25 hp Merc fuel starvation problem

Follow up, I think the hose was the culprit. Replaced with fuel line from Napa and did an engine run on the trailer at the river where she ran great.

    Mercury Reverse Latch Mystery

My parts arrived today and these pictures were great. I got the reverse hook installed and it appears to be working properly. I have an extra spring, I ended up installing the remote control spring on starboard side instead of the “all other models.” I’m guessing the other spring interfaces...

    Mercury Reverse Latch Mystery

These are great, thank you. My parts arrive Thursday, this will be a big help. I did not order the shallow water drive trolling bracket. I’m hoping I don’t need that for the reverse hook to work

    Mercury Reverse Latch Mystery

I believe if I do that, it will be permanently locked down and won’t be able to flip up if an obstacle is hit in the water? But I will check it again-thanks for your reply!

25 hp Merc fuel starvation problem

Been chasing a problem on my new to me boat, first time out it was cutting/surging at high throttle like it was starving for fuel. I tore down the carb and it looked very clean, still sprayed it and ran guitar string everywhere. After watching YouTube, went and looked at the fuel hose and...

    Mercury Reverse Latch Mystery

    Mercury Reverse Latch Mystery

On my new to me boat and motor, the motor wants to power itself out of the water in reverse if any significant throttle is applied. Motor is a 25hp Mercury 2 stroke (2005). It was converted to a jet at some point. I’ve determined it does not have the shift rod which I was able to order from...

    Replace Bus with Blue Sea

Thanks for the reply. That was sort of where my head was at but didn’t know if I was overcomplicating it. I’m not 100% sure of the gauge of the wire coming off the battery currently, but it looks very close to the size of the leads from the motor. Is there any sketchiness to leaving this open...

    Replace Bus with Blue Sea

Hi all-first post and new to me boat. Could I replace this improvised Bus set up with a Blue Sea fuse block? Left goes to motor, 25hp 2 stroke electric start with 6amp alternator Right goes to battery cutoff switch (+) and battery (-) at bow. There is a 12v socket wired in as well just above...
