The Mrs. was getting hungry for pulled pork so on it went. Rubbed the butt down with vegtable oil and my homemade rub on Saturday and put it in the fridge over night. Trying the "snake method" for charcoal on my Weber Performer for the first time with apple wood and pecan. So far so good. Temperature is holding well, have had to make a couple of adjustments but several hours into the cook and I haven't had to open the lid yet.

4 hours into the cook. The charcoal is about 1/2 used so it should go 8 hours. Internal temperature at 148f.

Interesting technique with the snake thing. Good idea whoever thought of it. My smoker usually runs at maybe 150 deg, its a brinkman and so far only done fish. Takes about 3 hrs at that temp. What internal temp are you looking for on your pork?

It actually worked pretty well. I would do it again with a butt. You do lose cooking area with it. It held up for 9 hours..
