    Where did you buy that aluminum? And how did you know how to fasten it inside the boat, etc.? And how did you cut it? I want to venture out and have a few ideas for my 12 footer...just not sure where to start.

    Thanks for your reply and suggestions. The next day I woke up at the lake and our campsite and could see more. I drove into Mount Pleasant and got a new battery and then went to the car wash, tipped the boat, and washed it out with soap and water. It didn't prevent the paint from peeling...

    I have this exact same boat, just a 1988 12' version...Thinking of doing something like this but just not sure if I'm skilled enough to work with aluminum, rivets, find materials, etc. In the end how much weight do you think you added to this boat? I guess a credit should be taken for removing...
