    prop help - cavitation

Lets all remember there is a difference between "cavitation" and "ventilation" also... Cavitation is when pressure decreases causing water to boil at much lower temperatures. When the bubbles from this boiling burst they can cause pitting on the prop. Ventilation occurs when air from the...

Anyone know what this boat is?

There are some differences, but I think they are attributable to his being a 16' and mine being 14'. The ID plates are identical, the fore-aft square tubing "stringers" are identical, the hull shape/splash rail is almost identical, and the funky splatter paint look on his transom looks very...

Anyone know what this boat is?

Someone on a different board suggested the possibility of it being a Meyers, based on the serial number tag being similar to one of the tags I found in my boat. Apparently Meyers made runabouts back in the day. Anyone know someplace that has any old Meyers brochures/catalogs/ads/etc? Their...

I tell you... even though I haven't found an answer yet, I'm really thankful for the internet. I'm just imagining what a nightmare this search would have been 20 years ago. -- aborgman

Anyone know what this boat is?

Interesting... any idea what model? This boat definitely has some Starcraft like lines, but I've been completely unable to find any photos or anything that really resemble this boat. If anyone knows where there are some photos of a smooth sided Starcraft, please let me know.

Was the Starcraft smooth sided or lapstrake? Every Starcraft I've seen is lapstrake.

Anyone know what this boat is?

Yep... that is one of the ones I've been considering - The closest things I've seen so far are: That particular Alumacraft (gunwale caps look close, gunwales look close, steering wheel is right, rub rail around inside of gunwales) A Crestliner. I've seen pictures of a number of Crestliners...

Anyone know what this boat is?

My original thought was a Duratech - a Duratech Marlin in particular, but the folks at duratechboats.com said: "The first thing I can positively confirm...this is not a Duratech. Dash, nose, hardware, gunwales and more give that away."

Anyone know what this boat is?

A little more info. Seats are (obviously) not original. Based on the brackets existing on the gunwales it appears to have originally had two, forward facing, bench style seats. You can see the brackets for the rear seat in this photo.
