The stuff I refered to comes in a tube like JB weld but called liquid aluminum or somthing like that. Has aluminum particles in an epoxy like base.

I would be far more concerned with stopping power, rather than towing power...most vehicles will tow far more weight than what they can safely stop with !! How good are the brakes on your SUV ?? 4wd..??

Using fiberglass to patch an aluminum boat was a mistake to begin with. What is the boat used for needs consideration as far as how much effort to put on the patch.

I can assure you that plastic boat will crack and fall apart from UV damage long before that aluminum boat!!

What state ?? Every state is different, here in Ohio, you are required to get your trailer weighed at a certified scale and plates cost are based on that weight. This goes for each new owner unless the prior owner signs over the prior registration papers.
