The weight rating is one of the reasons I want to buy another boat. Mine is a hand me down from a cousin and there was no information on the boat at all. So I have no idea what it's rated for. I want to keep the little boat as a one man boat for myself and get a 12 or 14 footer for me and...

I'd like to have one that's a bit wider and a bit thicker walled. I want to keep it short, though, for the river. However, I'd like to have another one, longer and wider, for the lakes. I'm sure most of you think I'm ridiculous for wanting more than one boat. :roll: lol

There's no way it could weigh less. Mine is made out of soda cans, I think. It had to have had higher sides or been wider. I'd love to have a wider boat. And my foam isn't water logged. So, I just have a narrow little boat. Too bad I never could weld aluminum very well, or I'd just widen it...

Benches connect to the sides via rivets. Thanks for the advice on who to go to about riveting.

I especially want to do something that will help with the rigidity of it. Plus, I need to find out how to use rivet guns and learn whether or not old rivets can be drill out and replaced. Man, so much to learn.

I was just given a 10' jon boat and was wanting to see some that people here have done. Really I'm interested in jon boats in general, but since I have a ten footer, I'd like to see some if anyone here has done anything like that.

Couldn't the parts be taken out of the 10 footer and put in a longer one later? Edited to add: Can a hydraulic steering system be added to ANY motor?

My cousin is giving me a 10 foot flat bottom boat and I'd like to put a steering wheel on it instead of just steering with the motor handle. How do I know if a motor can be hooked up to a steering wheel? Bet you can't tell I'm new to this stuff, huh?
