I'm a Pennsylvania transplant her in the South and am looking to use my 17ft SeaArk (60/40 jet) to chase stripers, smallies, trout or anything else that swims....I live near lake Hickory but know nothing about the striper fishing here.
Have boat and fly rods...Willing to travel!
Best,
Dan
Gentlemen,
I'm a Wetlander believer as well. I've had mine coated for about a year now and she is still smooth as silk and slippery as snot on a door knob! Great product.
Just ripped off the stick steering system and installed a center console where the stick steer seat used to be. Love it!! The thing jumps up on plane faster and really opens up the front deck for casting and managing my fly line...
It wasn't as difficult a task as I thought it might be...
Here's mine. 1648 SeaArk w stick steering and rowing seat in the middle. Goes super shallow, has tons of room on the back, middle and front and the 60/40 jet pushes it like a champ anywhere you want to go...Can't beat it!
Well, the finger has healed fairly well and I've been able to finish the project. I installed SeaDek (what I was cutting when I turned my finger into a filet) on the front deck, installed my mesh netting over the back compartments so my fly line doesn't wrap around anything and have completed...
Unfortunately not! The build has been on hold due to a really sharp carpet cutter and an idiot operator who cut the end of his finger off! It's healing nicely and thankfully I didn't get any blood on the boat.....I should have her in the water within the next two weeks or so. I'll keep you...
I finally got that nasty non-slip stuff off of the front of the boat. 2hrs of wire brush grinding and Goo Gone.....
Primed it, painted it and now I'm waiting for my SeaDek to arrive and she'll be ready to take her first dunk!!
1 bought a 1/2 gallon and used every bit of it! Scott Hogan is the guy that helped me. He was extremely helpful. His contact information is below.
