Sure is. When I do my carpet next year I plan on putting some 1/4' plywood down on top of it. The way it is now you can easily lose hooks and sinkers in the gaps around the edges of the floor. I already lost a wing nut to this in the bilge area.

In my opinion, the existing deck isn't big enough to mount the seat base. I have the same boat and build a 17" deck extension. I mounted the base a few inches back from the end of the factory deck.

I used to load one in a truck bed and I'll never go back to that. Way more trouble than just trailering it around. With a trailer I can load and unload alone in just a couple minutes. I fish at least once a week though, for occasional trips it wouldn't be a big deal. Btw, I'm from WV too...
