    foam on the deck

I have a question about floatation. The foam on the deck of aluminum boats does not affect the floatation of the boat unless the boat takes a wave over the bow and the boat is swamped. Correct?

    Steelflex question

I have seen discussions on how steelflex seals the hull. Does it also protect the hull from scrapes? I am considering using an aluminum boat in waters with very sharp and jagged oyster bars. The oyster bars scratch the fiberglass boats. I would like to learn some opinions on how steelflex...

    flat's boat for redfish

Are there any pictures of an aluminum boat that was modified to be a flat's fishing boat for redfish? Specifically, the style of boat that I am interested in has the following characteristics: casting deck on the bow, walk around gunnels, and poling platform.

    wood vs foam

I have looked at several of the boat modifications and the work is very impressive. Every modification that I looked at used wood and plywood. However, in Florida the theme is wood=rotting. Why do you guys use wood and plywood instead of foam board or some other synthetic material? Don't you...

    Aluminum vs fiberglass

Please excuse my cluelessness. I live in south Florida which is a fiberglass boat world. I am requesting information on aluminum boats. I am considering modifying an aluminum boat but first I want to learn more about them. For example, what are the positives and negatives of aluminum boats...
