i had the lowrance 520c on my boat and was no more difficult to work than my humminbird 525 but the extra features are great...like setting a waypoint at the dock before you leave so you can find your way back at night, or marking channels or fish, they are well worth the money and they can be...
thats a good looking boat it looks to be in great shape for it's age a new piece of wood for the transom and a nice 15 hp and a coat or two of paint and you will be on your way.....nice find ....btw......i wish mine was that wide i have a 1969 1432 sears that i'm getting ready to do surgery on...
personally if it was mine i would put in a bilge pump controlled by a float switch and dock it and cover it, and the only time the bilge pump would comsume battery current is when enough water is in the bilge area to activate the bilge pump. float switch at wally world for 16...
i am pretty sure as with any epoxy you can paint over it but only with EPOXY, oil based and water based paint will NOT stick to epoxy.........................Mike
the lights put out enough light to see to rebait or to re tie a line or to just find something on the floor, they are not overpowering and they run on 2 aa batteries and will last for a long time if you use good batteries, i don't run them constantly just when i need to see to do...

the bilge pump is for in case **** happens like i knock a hole in the boat or in choppy water and the boat takes on water i can flip a switch and automatically pump out the water, it is a safety feature just for my peace of mind.............Mike
