    Outboard rehab project

You've just given me another job to do this winter. I have a '67 Johnson that the previous owner sprayed matt black straight over the decals. I've been telling myself that I'll do the job when I get the decals. Having seen your work I now realize that I don't need the new decals, and with a bit...

    Anyone else smoke a pipe?

azekologi, you're right about the ladies being attracted to the aroma. Once you get past the fact that they are not talking to you because you are a sexy hunk, but because you remind them of their grandfather it's not too bad. I originally come from England and I agree that the British tobaccos...

    Anyone else smoke a pipe?

I've smoked a pipe for a few years. I buy cheap bags of tobacco for about $17 and they will last me about a month. It always surprises me how many non smokers like the smell of pipe tobacco. They usually say it's a memory thing. Like some have already said, it does tend to keep the insects away...

14 ft semi-v project with pictures and questions

Dave, you're probably right. I just had some RTV sealant handy and it seems to be doing the job. I may have to look in Lowes the next time I'm there.

14 ft semi-v project with pictures and questions

I'll try and take a photo of it tomoorow for you. It didn't have a seal on it when I got the boat, but I applied some rubber sealant to it to stop a tiny leak. It is just an aluminum screw plug and I did think of replacing it with one of the small rubber livebait plugs, but I haven't yet.

14 ft semi-v project with pictures and questions

Good to see another Richline. I have a '68 14ft Richline powered with a '67 20hp Johnson. Mine has a screw in plug with a shield under the hull. When it's out of the water I clip the plug to the kill switch lanyard and then clip the lanyard to the motor clamp. That way I don't lose it and it...

    Electrical run In Series??

If you wire your outlets in series you will lose power on the second outlet because of the voltage drop. If you wire them in parallel it will use the same amount of wiring without the voltage drop. As for the lighting circuits using the same negative return, that would be fine as what you are...

    Splicing 6-gauge wire

I've just read that article from motorboating.com and one thing I noticed was in the last paragraph before the step by step he mentioned that you shouldn't get a shock from the positive terminal if you are not touching the metalwork of the boat. You shouldn't get a shock anyway, because you...
