Considering putting a grab bar on a G3 1860. Looking for one that will hold a cooler. Any recommendations? ...Or considerations with this type of modifications?
Thanks
Any idea on what the set up / cure time is with the RTV? The only concern I have using 4200 is the relatively short set up time. About 1.5 hrs I think is what the 3m site said. ??
I figure by the time I put a good bead on all the ribs, line the floor back up, put cleco fasteners in place...
It's interesting you say that! My first thought had been to use strips of rubber (think bike inner tube - I have some laying around) but someone at work suggested sealant.
Sealant seems like a better idea as it would fill all the gaps and adhere to the surfaces permanently. Or as permanantly...
Will be pulling the floor on my 2013 Alumacraft 1648NCS to try and eliminate an obnoxious rattle/vibration at anything above 1/2 throttle.
I'm considering putting a serious bead of 4200 along the entire length of each rib (?) then re-riveting the floor back in place.
I've already drilled and...
I figured the screws would be less likely to loosen. I didn't think of the obvious - i.e. just putting in another rivet.
I have access to a pop rivet gun and may try that if the screws don't work.
Thanks.
I've drilled out one of the rivets and put the screw/washer in.
Excuse the dumb question but.... don't I need to be able to buck the rivet on the bottom side? Not sure how I'd get at that side since it's inside the rib. ??
A number of the factory rivets have either loosened or had the heads pop off so the floor in my semi-v vibrates/rattles obnoxiously at certain speeds. Other than drilling pilot holes then screwing in some stainless sheet metal screws w/finish washers into the ribs, does anyone have a idea on...
Hello... I'm trying to come up with an idea for an anchor holder on my Alumacraft 1648. Other than put the anchor/chain/rope in a milk crate or bucket.
I'm curious to see what ya'll have come up with.
Thanks.
