I see a lot of these boats with no flooring, please read.

As long as we're talking floors....anyone ever used fiberglass? I have messed with it in automotive applications and thought it might be a good choice for a permenant floor. I have ribs on the bottom of my jon and thought using some foam or plywood to bring the level up even with the ribs then...

    LEGALITIES!!

Our government seems confusing all the time. And because it is a commonwealth you can't really do much about it. If a state trooper rams your vehicle in a car chase (not the vehicle running! this is just a wildly random example) you can't hold them responsible because any action taken against...

Yeah, the beauty of the commonwealth! Our systems are unlike any others. But I wouldn't wanna live anywhere else!

Trying to find out what kind of boat I have.

I went to boatsafe.com and they had a nice page about HINs. And a link to a Coast Guard Site that showed manufacturer codes. There is also a BOATFAX.com just like CARFAX.com! You have to pay for an advanced search, but putting in the HIN got me make and model year free!

    LEGALITIES!!

It had washed into a sand bar, half sunk it the sand, but completely submerged. It took some work. It just seems to me there should be some kind of salvage laws. I know there are entire companies based on doing nothing but hauling out wreckage from oceans and claiming their treasures. Also...

A product for removing decals, for sure and easy.

If you want to steer clear of the chemicals, something I used for automotive work is the Astro Wheel. It's basically a big rubber eraser. attaches to a drill or die grinder. It literally erases the decal, glue and all. You really have to be careful not to burn through your paint, or...

    LEGALITIES!!

Here's the story. A friend of mine fished a 14' jon boat out of the river about 2 years ago. Now it's in my back yard. What do I do? I want to do it right and legal. Also if it belonged to someone who is still aching over their lost boat I would want to reunite them with it. I mean I'm...
