I need to add a stern light to my 14' aluminum boat, but the only place to put it would seem to be the gusset between the sides and transom. The problem is that the gusset is at a steep angle down to the top of the transom, so at best the light pole would be pointed inboard and at worst it...
Not to nitpick, but you may want to read the hull again - I think that must be "Ouachita," pronounced "Wash-it-aw." I only interject because I was born in Hot Springs, AR and grew up fishing nearby on Lake Ouachita.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Tinboats! I've gotten my modded Gregor tin seaworthy and ready to go fishing (tomorrow morning)!
I wish I had taken more picture while I was working, but you'll get the idea and I'll be happy to answer questions about how it's set up. I added supports made of...
That's a good point about price ... I am in Northern California which is just about the most expensive place in the country outside of NYC. If you are in the Midwest or South, then the $1250 price is even more out of step.
Welcome! I'm pretty new too - this place is very inspiring! Hmm, that's a pretty good looking boat. Check for any leaks when you are out on the lake. See how easily that motor gets the boat up on plane with the two of you in the boat. See if it feels tippy when you stand up and fish...
Awesome - thanks for the infomration! I'll post an update of my project very soon and you'll see that I copied you pretty closely. You did a great job!

Great looking boat! I'm working on my own 13'4" Gregor and am currently adding the aluminum angle framing for the deck. It doesn't look like you have a whole lot of support for the deck at the bow in front of the seat, and I am also wondering if the hatches at the stern are structural - can...
Thanks! I just ordered all the remaining supplies I need for construction: aluminum, carpet, seats, glue, etc. - everything but the electronics and accessories, which I'll do last. I will have the boat shined and painted this weekend, and I'll post pictures. I'm just painting a stripe on each...
I have been polishing the aluminum with Mother's. Does anyone have any thoughts on how best to remove all of the cloudy residue after polishing? It seems no matter how many times I apply the polish, there is always a cloudy residue left over. So far the only solution I have found is to ball...
