I've been very pleased with the durability. The piece on the front deck started to show wear patterns after about 3 years. I just cleaned it and covered it with another sheet.
Dawson did a storage box / deck extension for me and I couldn't have been more satisfied. The workmanship is first class.Don't know how to post photos or I would.
Thanks for the replies. Shaugh, you have identified what I was thinking of. I just didn't know how much thrust is lost on the second 45 Lb. The motor on back also helps with the angler being able to back away from shore when retrieving an errant cast and boat control in the wind for the angler...
beginning the process of up fitting an all electric jon boat. Thinking of 2 45lb thrust or 1 55lb thrust. I assume you don't realistically get 90lbs of thrust but what is the lose. Is the better option to do 1 55lb ? Putting a 55 on the bow.

the quote came in at $550. that is C&C cut to fit my deck configuration for the front deck, hatches and rear deck. I want to include some reel pads so I am still in discussion.
I am also looking at options for decking and I am in conversation with Aqua Traction. I am waiting for a quote on cut to fit for my G3 1966 model. I have a friend that just had it installed on his flats Fly Boatworks 18 and he is very pleased with it. www.aquatraction.com

thank you for the response ! that was my concern as well and if the entire flotation pod is wet will be a major expense. unfortunate, it appears the yamaha looked new but the elderly gentleman had mounted and removed so much stuff had really hurt the value
looked at a boat yesterday where the owner left an open hole about the size of a silver dollar in one flotaton pod. boat has been outside for 4-5 months uncovered. flotation is wet. is this a problem ? how would i get it dry ? would it keep you from buying the boat ?
thanks for the help
I am ready to hear comments pro and con about the different boat manufacturers.
my considerations are , G3, Alumacraft ,Lowe and Sea Ark.
I will be buying a tiller version in the 1860 and would benefit from the experiences here.
thank you
