I have that jackplate on my boat. If you mount it even with the top of your transom it is a 3" raise. I would go ahead and mount it there for starters. That would put your cavitation plate even but you should still be on the safe side because of the setback. I might be wrong but that is my opinion.
Yes. I use one on my 15 Johnson for the same reason. It will drag on my driveway if I don't. If you read the package on the Attwood it says not for use on motors without power tilt/trim. I don't know why.
I just went to their website. That is the same Moeller cap I paid $5 for 3 weeks ago and now it is $13. I guess they figured out people were buying them to replace the self venting ones and jacked up the price.
I recently bought a new 6 gallon Attwood at Wally World. It had no vent on the tank itself but the cap had the automatic vent which sucked. The tank would swell up like a balloon in the sun but still not enough pressure for the cap to self vent. I went to Gander Mountain and bought an old style...
I had one on my Nitro bass boat a few years ago. Reception was ok but not great. There are a couple of other options though. You could use one of these https://www.metraonline.com/images/products/full/44-UL15.jpg It is retractable so you can keep it down when not in use. When in use pull it all...
Another good one!

Question to anyone who might know. Some Digital Multi Meters have RPM measurement capabilities. I wonder if that would work. Maybe someone here has one and knows.
Looks great. I wish I had built my own. I bought the non adjustable one from Bass Pro for $89. After I bought mine I found a place locally that has great prices on aluminum. Is that 6061? They have 4x4x 1/4 6061 for $8.06 a ft.
The fuse holder I offered up doesn't have wire on it at all. It has an opening that will accept up to #4 and set screws to hold the wire in. I work in the car audio field. We stock #0 wire and fuses up to 300A.
If you can't find a fuseholder or circuit breaker let me know. I have some extra AGU fuseholders at work. They are a little larger than AGC. I can throw one along with a few 40a fuses in an envelope and mail it to you free of charge.
