    2008 Yamaha 50hp 2 stroke?

I am by no means an expert, but I run an 86 Yamaha 40/30 on my 18' with heavy wood front and back decks and am able to plane out with 3-4 adults and run pretty shallow. It doesn't have the best hole shot, and with that many people it tops out at about 18 MPH, but it works. I imagine a 50/35...

    Missouri tin-boaters!!!!!!!

Hey guys. I'm fairly new to the board. I'm in Russellville, which is about 20 miles SW of Jefferson City. I don't really do any fishing, just some family-time pleasure boating on our new-to-us converted OBJ. We frequent the top of the Osage river (bottom of Bagnell Dam at LOZ). Everyone...

    Transducer Protector

By the looks of the last picture on the CL post, it appears you don't have to use the cage.

    New boat

Yea, that's how I tow my jet too, down and bungeed. However, my bungee is to keep it from bouncing as much as that seemed to put a lot of stress on my transom corners. My steering cable is old and tight so the motor doesn't twist much.

    New boat

I would have to agree with you there. I was just curious to see if anyone knew of a OBJ transom saver because I've never seen one before. I am looking for a transom saver for my prop lower that will clear the long splash plate. I'd prefer not to have to unmount it and plug the holes when...

Any of you running your jets?

Thanks for the info Seth. The poker runs sounds like a good time. Wish I could make it.

    Couple Jet Questions

Does anyone know how many washers I should have on a model Z medium pump ('86 40HP Yamaha motor)? I got the pump used from a guy down in SE MO and it only has 4. Two on top, two on bottom and then the nut-saver or whatever it's called with the tabs. When I look at the parts diagram on the OBJ...

    New boat

Does anyone have any links to an obj transom saver? I have not been able to find any. Also, I need someting that can come out from my trailer past the foot-long splash plate (motor is mounted on a jack plate), then have some sort of bend in it to shoot up to the jet foot. I have a transom...

Any of you running your jets?

Does anyone have an update on the Indian Ford ramp condition? A group of us used to camp down there every summer when the hippies owned it, but after they sold it, it became less desirable. I thought I heard that a osage county deputy bought it and it's been washed out a couple times since...

    Riveted Jon Boat with Jet??

I'm running an 18' riveted Lowe with a 40/30 hanging off the back on a manual jack plate. However, I try to avoid any water lower than a foot. I am very new to the game, but love the worryfreeness of a jet over a prop. So far the only issue I've had is it only has a single riveted knee brace...

    Swapping lower units

Hey guys. I'm new to the forum and just going through some old posts and thought I'd put my $0.02 in here. I have an old 86 Yamaha 40 that I slapped a jet unit on last year. I've only made the swap a couple times, but from start to finish, including screwing the manual jackplate up and down...
