well since i posted last i got the boat out on the water which turned into a rough day and learned alot first off when your not sure how your boat is going to run head up wind lol got about a half mile down wind and the boat died never started again thank you trolling motor gods saved my butt...

i went with 1/4 " and backed it with foam to keep it quiet and then carpet on top and it seems to work fine for me just make sure it is not treated

thank you everyone for all the good leads on getting the parts i have been doing some looking trying to find an after market float not made of cork and i have come to find there is not one so i will be ordering a carb kit as soon as i can and thanks again for all the help

gonna miss her I had my idle mix at 3/4 turn to start with and went out to 1 1/2 and the other at 1 1/2 and did not move it any but i did find the problem thank you for your help i am really enjoying how helpful everyone is on here

i messed with it more today and figured out that the float is bad old cork style and it was saturated and the little screws tat hold it on the top portion of the bowl chamber are rotted out and gone so time to order parts anyone got a good place to order from for a good price ?

ok i have cleaned the carb everything seems to be good there no but now everytime i pull it to start it with or without the choke it is spitting fule [-o< out of the over flow i need help please it will fire and dies real fast

it is in bad shape already i am going to just remove it and replace after i gluvit the boat

thanks for th advise on the gluvit i will have to get some ordered will it mess up the caulk in the seems of the boat or should i remove the caulk before useing it ?

hey everyone here is what i got to sart with it is a 14 ft flat sears jon came with a 28lbs trust minn kota tm and a johnson 9.5 not running. as soon as i got the boat home pulled the carb and cleaned it really good put it back on gave it some fresh fuel and put it in the test barrle and got it...

so here is a pic of the boat and what i got to work with any and all ideas are wanted i would like to know if this is a desent boat to put a front deck on and so on thanks for the help

thanks for the welcome but i am new to the whole aluminum boats does anyone have any knowen ways to patch a few small holes in the bottom of a aluminum jon boat it has silicone in them now and is not leaking but to me it does not seem like that will hold up very well
