    My tracker 1542

Yes I did.. i mounted 3" square tubing then reduced the flex int the fron of theboat by adding the angle iron. I also made the plate the front seat and battery are mounted too out of stainless. She's light and easy to pull on shore. And surprisingly fast on the water.

    My tracker 1542

I kept it simple as it's the first boat I have owned. I might add decks later but for now I like the way I have it set up for fishing and using the trolling motor.

Well I finally finished setting up my new tracker 1542 and took her out on her maiden voyage to find that my motor slips out of gear. After reading a few post it seems this might be a common issue with older OMC motors. And the lover unitit gears are to blame. I found some gears listed on...

Yes a slide hammer might help if i can get it to grab on the bearing. Thanks for the idea. Someone on iboats mentioned heating the aluminum housing to get it to expand. But I am concerned that might warp the housing.

    water in lower unit. help!!

Okay I opened up the gear case.. I found the spaghetti seal had red gasket caulk on it. The 6 screws that hold the gear case together were covered in a caulking or sealer like the manual specifies but the caulk was soft and wet. Theres also 6 small pins about 3/4 of an inch long that just...
