    40HP too much?

Ok, thanks guys. And any words on Misty River? They look good, but I've been looking it up and I've found they've gone outta business. Is this a bad thing? Because I'm in love with this boat.

    40HP too much?

I would obviously never pin it. From what i can see it looks pretty deep too, if that would help keep the back outa the water. It a super nice boat: https://saskatchewan.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-boats-watercraft-powerboats-motorboats-16-ft-Misty-River-40-Mercury-W0QQAdIdZ277514786

    40HP too much?

Hey guys. I was just wondering if a 1993 40HP Mercury was too much for a 16' Misty River. The boat is covered in Marine plywood, so that would add some weight. And anyone know why Misty River was closed? Thanks guys.

Hey guys. Just trying to fire up my new boat for the first time. Geuss what? It won't start. It is an '88 15HP Johnson w/ electric start. It turns over, but won't fire up. Need help quick hopefully leaving to the lake in an hour. Thanks! I have tried choke, no choke, throttle no throttle...

    New Boat!

Looks a in a lot worse condition in the pics. It is in nice shape for being a '73. Anyway, see the board on the right hand side of the trailer? Thanks for the replays guys!

    New Boat!

Not mine, but similar idea. Their is a small 'board' running from front to back, just on the right side. Like it is under the rollers.

    New Boat!

Hey guys. About 6 hours ago i purchased my first aluminum, a 1973 14' Lund, with a 1988 15HP Johnson, with electric start. I have a few questions. First, what oil should i use? Would it be available at a BRP dealer? What ratio should i run? And should i pump the ball so its hard? Or just...

    remote throttle to Tiller

Hey guys. Im not suer what its called, so I'm gonna go with mid ship steer (were there is a steering wheel). Is it possible to turn a 'id ship steer' into a tiller? I have never owned an outboard, so i have no idea what I'm doing. Could i do it? Is it expensive? Is it possible? There is a...

    Merc 7.5

Would a 7.5 Mercury be able to put a 14' tin on plane? The boat weighs about 175 lbs, and the people/equipment would weigh roughly 500 pounds. And in general, is this a decent motor? Not sure on the year, looks roughly 1970ish. Thanks guys.

    A Few Questions...

Sorry for all the posts. I am also looking at another 14'. It is beat. It has a 7.5 Merc Tiller. Would it be able to go somewhat fast so i can get across my lake, like not in an hour? This is the boat...

    A Few Questions...

Ok. I am buying from the dealer. I will get the new boat and trailer, but the engine will be used. I found a 1975 20HP Johnson on Kijiji, can't afford new. Ill have to get it out and try it to see if it is even stable enough. It got tons of ribs, but its still pretty narrow. And after...

    A Few Questions...

Thanks for the replays guys! Yeah, would i even need some marine plywood? Or could i just slap the engine on? And also, would 57" be too narrow is i wanted to go out in the waves one day? And, if i were to put a trolling motor on, should i putt off the front of back? Or would i be just...
