Haven't used it yet, but will spray it on. I looked on rustoleums site, and it says that top coats can be put on primers after a short time. It doesn't say that on my can, but I might be safe.
Thanks for the replies. I'll probably let it go for an hour or so and see what happens.
Picked up some 'fast drying' rust oleum bare aluminum primer and it says it's dry to the touch in 1-2 hours, and fully dry in 48 hours. Do I have to wait the full 48? I don't really want to wait, but I will if it makes the difference between doing it right and redoing it next season. Any experience?
I'm replacing the plywood on the bench seats in my 15' Gregor. The old seats were attached with rivets, but I'm wondering if bolts would be better? The reason I ask is that I'll be installing a downrigger on the seat, and I'm not sure if rivets will be strong enough. The plywood is 3/4 inch MDO...
Just saw woodonboats post - very nice. Since there is already a coat of paint on mine, I may just sand the existing paint with 220, clean off, and spray rustolem. Doesn't seem like primer is needed.
I'm re-doing the seats in my 15' Gregor and installing some accessories. Seems like a good time to clean up the inside and put a fresh coat of paint on the inside. Any special paint required? I'll mainly be in saltwater if that makes a difference. I'm not interested in bedliner or something...
