Thanks that is helpful I wasn’t sure what oil or quantity it held so that should tell me. I will get on it soon as I can thanks again

    Leaky ouachita jon

No doubt, my dad and I bailed water out of an old sea king many times. I miss that boat. But he now has a bass tracker and we love it. Maybe one day I will be able to afford an all welded boat myself, but until then my jon will have to do. The search for the ultimate primary catfish secondary...

Tilt&trim works great under no load, not well under load

Sorry guys been a little busy here lately. The wife and I finally had our little girl. Healthy as a horse! Mom did well also. But the tilt trim is a cmc power tilt and trim system. This is what it looks like. It has one ram. The engine is a 40 horse Johnson on a 17 ft jon with one of those...

New Project 14' jonboat- images fixed

I envy your shop supplies. I see your big Miller, maybe a plasma cutter, and those pipe dies and bender back there. I have to be at work to acces that stuff, I am a handrail builder. Your build looks great I sure hope to do something similar with my 17 ft jon

Tilt&trim works great under no load, not well under load

It is as the title states. My tilt and trim works very well when there is no load on the engine, or very little load. I can get on plane very fast with it trimmed down all the way but as you probably guessed I can not trim up to raise rpm and speed once I get on plane. Could this be a weak pump...

    Leaky ouachita jon

I have a 17 ft ouachita jon with foam filled sides that is leaking from somewhere and I can not find out where. The leak is not so bad that I can not use the boat But I have to run the bilge for about three minutes once an hour. I was wondering if there was something I could paint the boat with...

How to make water pump stream more visible

Good to know about the 2k rpm. I never have gotten too crazy with rpm on muffs simply because it is not good to free rev an engine that is designed to operate at given rpm with a heavy load on it. Plus it does nothing but waste fuel. I’ll see if I can remember to throw some pics up of the boat...

How to make water pump stream more visible

I consider 3k or so high rpm when free revving or no load revving. Is this still too high?

How to make water pump stream more visible

Thanks guys I think I may run a hose to a place I can easily see it. The boat I have is a 17 foot ouachita jon with foam filled sides and has old style pods on the rear that make it difficult to see the stream in its stock form. A water pressure gauge is in the future though I would say. I hear...

How to make water pump stream more visible

Hi new here. Could I run a hose from my engine up to the console where I could see it from the driver seat so that I could be certain my engine continues to pump water while driving or would this put too much load on the water pump? My father and I several years back roasted a motor due to water...
