Ordered a new MV1648 NCS

Also interested in hearing how stiff the floor is? Considering getting one of these. I have a 1648 with center seat removed and the boat has suffered structurally as a result

What should I do about these bolts/holes?

Girvek, I have a 1980 traveler. Mine is a 1648 flat bottom Jon. What model is yours? Post a pic or two of the boat sometime. I would jb weld the transducer holes and use ss hardware on the transom. Good advice above from others.

Spearfishing from a 12ft vhull? help

Essentially an inflatable bag attached to your paddle serving as sponson. Seems you could use the same pad...

Yikes! Glad you're all good. Scary. Not many can shame you for not having your lanyard on. I rarely see anyone on any size boat with one on in my waters. I will dig mine out.

tin boats in salt

I fish a 1436 in the skinny water of coastal NC. Mostly protected and shallow flats fishing. Short jaunts down the ICW from spot to spot make me nervous on busy days. Big boat wake is worse than wind waves for me. While I can predict the wind produced waves and stay in relative comfort, I don't thin...

Replacing Wheels/Tires with Bearing Buddies?

The place I buy my car tires from did a set for me quick and free one day. It probably helped that I had recently bought car tires from them and showed up whooped from trying to hand mount them myself. Buying premount is not a bad route, and will leave you with two spares if needed

Found this listing on CL. Look at the background boats in the photos. This guy has the bug. He must be a member here? https://raleigh.craigslist.org/boa/5089979095.html I would like to hang out and get the tour of his property! These are good photos to have if your wife questions (like mine does) wh...

Aluminum Framing Size Question

My local scrap charges .99 a pound. Check yours out. Mine has really good stuff including tons of angle and square stock for cheap.

First round of questions

I bought enough aluminum at my local scrap yard last weekend for $26 to complete my deck frame. Check to see if you have one. Mine sells aluminum for a buck a pound. Pretty good deal.
