A 'floor' or a trailer? What would you do?

I've got the standard, 6 foot bed which is maybe 8 tops with the tailgate down. The 1542 would hang out 7 feet. I don't know if I can make that work even if it does go in outboard-first so the weight is closer to the cab. Maybe I can fasten some longer bunks to Fitz's trailer. I think I'll look in t...

A 'floor' or a trailer? What would you do?

It looks like Fitz's trailer isn't going to work. I still appreciate the chance to use it though. Thanks Fitz. I just thought "maybe I should measure things first" and it looks like the boat will be 3 feet longer than the trailer. Given that it's the transom with an outboard sitting out past the bun...

A 'floor' or a trailer? What would you do?

Griz, I have a trailer that that might work for you if interested. I’m about 2 hours from you? It’s not pretty but is tagged and road ready. 6B765752-5024-4092-A51D-F19136F0E0D7.jpeg I'm down in Houston a lot so you're not so far away. It looks like it'd work to me. Are you thinking sale, rent, or ...

I have considered this as well. Let me just attach floaties to all my tools....and I've dropped them all.

A 'floor' or a trailer? What would you do?

Do you think the single, front handle could take that kind of force? (especially with the weight of an outboard on the back?)

A 'floor' or a trailer? What would you do?

Guys, the boat and motor are >300 lbs. I'm not lifting it on anything. At least, I'm not lifting it myself. Also the bulk head is 1.5-2' above the water so i don't have a bank to roll it out.

I appreciate the suggestions though.

Re: A 'floor' or a trailer? What would you do?

Or drag it up the bank and slide it in the back of a truck. Also a boat will sit on any flat bed trailer that you can beg borrow or steal. Sent from my CLT-L04 using Tapatalk The bank is bulkheaded, and with the outboard it's too heavy to drag. I could winch it out but I'd struggle to get it back i...

A 'floor' or a trailer? What would you do?

I have a Topper 1542 without a trailer. A trailer isn't necessary because the boat is hoisted from the lake on a cradle originally used for the previous owners' jet skis. I want to add a casting deck to the front of the boat, but it's hard to work on it since the boat is over water. There's a dock o...

Tracker 1542 Upgrade

Eh, I'm more of a function over form guy so the powder coat wouldn't bother me. Do they require a little oil/grease from time to time? Also, how'd you attach them.

I'm just getting in to modding my boat so I'm trying to soak up all the ideas and techniques I can.

That's a good looking boat. Do you like those seat brackets? I was looking into those for my 1542 but they seem to have very mixed reviews.

Nice. How wide are the benches and what bracket did you find to fit it? My Topper 1542 has 22" benches and I can't find a bracket big enough.

I have this one and it's the quietest outboard I've ever heard.
