Transducer location for Loweline v-hull?

My solution is only for small rowboats. Good luck.

Artificial lure - that mean the lure is not a real lure ?

After re-reading the Berkley article, I found it contains a few things I don't agree with: If bass senses are tuned for specific prey like small fish, why do they attack artificial lures like hardbaits and softbaits? Simply, because to a feeding bass these lures emulate food . When a bass sees a min...

Artificial lure - that mean the lure is not a real lure ?

while I suppose scientists can dissect fish eyes and determine how they function based on the rods & cones, how do we really know how fish brains, as tiny as they are, process the information. like your reasoning! Wish there were more like you that process better than a fish. Superstition rul...

Artificial lure - that mean the lure is not a real lure ?

Here are some ideas to consider. When fish see red, does it think blood and a wounded animal? When it sees pink is it thinking gay prey ? When a bass strikes something out-of-this-world, do you wonder, what was it thinking? Just maybe it struck the lure because it didn't think or better yet CAN'T TH...

Artificial lure - that mean the lure is not a real lure ?

An article I found on Berkley's website is the best I've ever read that explains my view of why fish strike lures and believe it opens the door to how and why to use different lures. Having tested many lure types and caught fish on many has given some insight on lure choice reality . The ultimate te...

Artificial lure - that mean the lure is not a real lure ?

I suppose saying artificial lure is kind of redundant, but nonetheless seems to be a commonly used term. So many things passed down through the generations of anglers have been ingrained over many decades. Nothing wrong with that except when it reduces the catch potential such as mimicking prey . B...

Using two split rings to attach the rear hook on a crankbait

Years ago I might have read or heard about the advantage of using two split rings on a crankbait's rear treble hook. I just started trolling crankbaits for when the bite is tough and for some reason catch some quality fish especially in water 8' or less in lakes that aren't much deeper than 12' duri...

Decided to go finesse

Today we beat the bank in shady area and under tree limbs. The day was super bright and sunny. We also trolled crankbaits but only caught 6 fish - some nice crappie and perch and fished from 2pm to 6pm . Some of the lures posted caught most of the 30 fish I caught which also included small bass and ...

Decided to go finesse

Rich, I've caught many fish with holes in their mouths from being caught before regardless of the lure. Fish memory if you search on-line is short term and especially within months they forget (if they ever remembered being caught at all) will bite lures that demonstrate aggravation triggers . Refer...

through action, noise, scent, vibration, color or a combination of those things the lure is representing something that is triggering the instinct to strike at the lure. A bird is not a part of it's diet yet bass will attack them on the surface or any mammal swimming near it. If the instinct to cha...

"Not so sure about lifelike as a reason fish bite lures." Maybe not, but could be a big reason fisherman buy them! Haha Actually, I think something that seems like prey or wounded prey is going to be effective. As a one who tinkers with soft plastic designs and catches fish with many, I'd have to s...

Why do fish strike lures?

they're as nuts as we are! strictly a live bait guy. why use something that imitates bait instead of live bait? Whatever catches fish for you - great! BTW lures don't imitate anything that ever lived nor do they need to. JMO A fish's senses are amazing and draw a complete picture of the object cast...
