Who has the fastest tin??

as to the legality issue- I am a second year law student taking an insurance course. So I am not an expert but I have had enough to give some general advice. You would have to look at the particular policy to see if there is a condition in it requiring hp to comply with the man. plate. Just becuase ...

River Monster Dugout Canoes

Anyone here notice how the indigenous peoples of the world are using 25' Dugout canoes with brand new 40hp Yamaha's on the back? That cracks me up every time. I bet they a given those so that they don't eat/murder Jeremy Wade. Makes me want to go out there and hollow out a tree. I was watching the e...

Finally got my 12ft project on here

He probably thought the fender was the tire... I did at first and it looks like one of those slick gocart tires. LMAO I also like the beer hold and the fact that you worked on this in a parking garage. Reminds me of something I would do. Also having a longshaft on a shortshaft transom is better than...

1993 14' Lund V boat - conversion deck

How did screwing that deck into the benches go? It would seem difficult to estimate the location, even with the old benches laying there? I have a similar Lund and those benches all originally had a nut on the backside holding the wood in place.

Wiring the boat to charge six 12v batteries.

This doesn't make sense. On a 14' boat the weight of those batteries would mean you could only fish with two guys. Why would you need three trollers? You should keep two of the batteries (one for the troller, one for everything else), a good 12V trolling , and get a gas outboard. Everything would be...

need a motor stand plan or template

HARBOR FREIGHT HAS ENGINE STANDS RATES UP TO LIKE 750 POUNDS FOR ONLY 30 DOLLARS. IT IS ENTIRELY STEEL AND WOULD PROBABLY BE CHEAPER THAN MAKING YOUR OWN IF YOU FACTOR IN TIME. THAT IS ASSUMING YOU HAVE A HF NEARBY.

Thoughts on this boat mod?

I agree, that sounds like a good deal but excessive corrosion in boat could mean you eventually are buying a trolling motor seats and trailer for 5 bills. You should check it out in person if it is close though.

Using my 12 ft Jon without a launch ...

That sound like a pain in the #$%. I almost tore my bicep trying to push my boat out up a bank. I would say use a chain to pull it out. I'm guessing you don't want one of those square plastic bass tenders but those look really light and ppl seem to give them away for nest to nothing.

Is this boat good for me?

try craigslist. If you can find one with everything newer (motor, tires, battery... no holes or leaks) for under $1,000 that would be a good deal. The costs of fixing a cheaper one up to mint are usually more than getting a nicer one to start out with.

Getting an old 12ft v hull

i have a 12 ft v-hull with a 6hp engine (42" beam) and it has trouble planing so I would say get an 8-10 hp so you can easily plane. It looks you are decently small though so a 5-6 may work for you as well as long as you don't add too much weight. (I am 245 lbs)

too heavy in the back end/ plowing through the water.

Thanks for the advice everyone.=D> I have a 3 gallon and a 6 gallon tank- will use the 3 though to reduce weight. I will have to try out the tilt pin setting all of the way forward this weekend. Also I have decided to mount the battery and gas tank near the front as well. And yes I now realize that ...

too heavy in the back end/ plowing through the water.

I was wondering if anyone had tips for moving weight forward in a semi- V boat. I have decking on the rear 3/4 of the boat and find i hard to move weight foward considering the back half is flat so I can store things under the decking. anyways, my boat is 11'6" 42" beam, with a 245lb guy and a 1996 ...
