Riveted jons - Lowe, Alumacraft or Tracker???

I have recently started reading this forum . . . seems to be an excellent source for information and ideas. I am looking at different brands of new riveted jon boats and would appreciate you guys' opinions. I will be buying a riveted boat rather than welded primarily b/c of price. I live the the Ho...

Rear seat centered or offset?

Personally, I've never seen anyone use a tiller steer from the center of the seat. I know on any boat I've ever owned it would be very uncomfortable for your arm to do so. I do and it works fine for me but not for all. I just purchased a extension with a elbow to see if it is better but for me I ju...

What kind of motor do I need?

Check the boats rating and get as close as you can afford mine is rated at 25 but I went 15 hp not because of money but because of weight. I have a bad back and needed something I could handle. As far as what to look for I would suggest hear or see it run has the bottom end been done, does it have a...

Finally pics of my Tracker 1542 build

My wife drove the boat on the way back as I enjoyed sitting in the front while sitting there I was thinking of new ideas. What I came up with was I am going to put a floor in the front of the boat at the same angle it currently has. I had one seat for the front but decided to get another today and I...

More pics of the boat this time on the water. Wife caught the first fish and than the rear of the boat started swaying as I pulled up the anchor it was very light. I soon realized my brand new 25.00 anchor was sitting on the bottom of the river. We went to Bass Pro today and they comped us the ancho...

I'm gussin but that must be a "Formal" fishing boat.... It has a white trolling motor.. cool rig man. Very Formal. Actually we fish in the bay sometimes so we went with a saltwater motor since the trailer is galvanized we could put it in the bay without too many rust issues plus Bass Pro quoted us ...

Knox, well done sir =D> Very sharp looking boat. I bet that tasty 15 HP Merc pushes your tin like a champ. I love the Bimini, I put the same one on my boat this year also, worth every cent. I have a question for you, how did you mount the seat to the livewell lid? Thank you sharp looking boat is wh...

Thank you it is about 40 percent done and as far as the Bimini goes it was 139.99 from cabelas with free shipping. Super easy to install and looks better than I thought it would.

Thanks for the tip on resizing. So far I have put in the back floor cooler, motor, fishfinder, trolling motor, batteries, canopy, seats, aereator in the live well, front and rear anchors and more I am forgetting. I have finished carpeting the back half and am moving on to the front. I am still undec...

Robr3004's Tracker 1436 Mod

Well after a lot of thought and consideration about what to do with my decking to raise it up and add a gas motor, I decided to put the money towards a bigger boat. As much as I love my little tin, I decided to upgrade to a 17ft Bass tracker so that I can fish with 2 or sometimes 3 of my other frie...

Curious about a few observations from here.

Your subject almost seems as it's purpose is to create controversy. Just because it is not for you does not mean it is not for everybody regardless of reason. It is like asking someone why did you buy a Honda because you drive a Chevy or why did you buy a 2 story house just because you own a 1 story...

Bar B Que Jon Boat

So has anyone ever put a que in their Jon. I have had them on my bigger boats and I loved it going out on a overnighter Crappie fishing with some Burgers and Dogs flaming off the back of the boat. My idea was to go to Walmart and buy a 20.00 propane table top and mount a seat swivel on the bottom. T...
