Why such hate for the smallmouth?

Prefer Smally's to LM's here. Yah, I'm weird, but I find them much more entertaining than their large mouth cousins..

I changed my background at work to a ZeeBaaS reel overlaying a Striper at work.

Dude saw it and asked me what it was, all I could do was longingly say "You just don't understand........"

How fast does your boat go?

Amazing what some extra power will do - Previous 7.5Hp E-rude got the boat fully loaded with half deck to 10.5mph single, 7mph with two anglers and gear. New 15Hp Johnson has the boat at 22.5mph with two anglers fully loaded on flat water. Single angler, well - :D - she makes plane, that's for sure!

Wait until bait gets scarce for late season stripers - I know where there is a whole tank just waiting for me :) Did someone say "stripers"? \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ https://images.fineartamerica.com/images-medium-large-5/striper-rise-mike-savlen.jpg Where do I park the car? I'll be there with coffee and a g...

74 Evinrude 9.9 rebuild

The stop button works by grounding out to the motor - pressing the momentary button completes the circuit to the motor block and kills the motor. If you pop the hood, you should see the wire that comes in from near the handle (or button itself) and where it goes back to the bolt on the block located...

No problem! If you want I can make a terrible picture in Paint and try to figure out how to get it on here.. JMO, but if you're going to consider aluminum decking, don't go with wood supports - do it right the first time and go with a tubular aluminum frame. You can do the frame with "L" chann...

Keel Guard for Sea Ark - Solution & Pics Added

maybe the wrong way to look at the problem, but if you're only beaching it a foot or so, why not just carry a chunk of carpet square with a dummy cord so you can tie it off to the bow? Toss it on the ramp and pull the boat on to it - not the concrete. Then when you're ready to go just hop in, back t...

Thanks for the interest & following my blog, I want to know every ones input & opinion. I will upload some drawing of what I am thinking about. I am pretty sure a high deck is out of the question. I've been debating on how to mount the deck. There is a slightly lower "V" nose bench seat that is riv...

Rough Fenderday for me. BIL sent my phone in the drink. Put a big ol' treble through my thumb. (they are even more of a PITA to push through I found out) BIL horsed a NICE walleye at the boat so I couldn't get the net under her in time and we lost it. New motor took a crap, it's headed for the shop ...

What fishing related item(s) have you purchased lately?

Got the motor I've been after for a year, a new to me, mid 80's Johnson 15Hp. Marginal weight increase, but the transom's rated for an 18Hp Fast Twin which weighs more than this one (and I'm svelt enough). Can't wait to get out on the water with it!! Mike - Nice looking motor there, I didn't know th...
