Re: Roll and Tip- what am I doing wrong

I thinned and used the fine brush but it seemed to dry really quickly. It was sunny and the tin was getting pretty warm. It was the 1st coat, so I'm going to sand a little and try to thin some more and paint in the morning when it's cooler. It was about 60 this morning so I think that should be per...

Re: It's not tin, but it is interesting

Kinda neat how the hull supports get printed right along with the hull. Quite interesting to watch in a time-lapse, but 4 days to print it? Wow, must be boring to watch in real time.

Re: Could a grounding issue cause fuse burn out

You've got a fused hot wire running to your trailer connector? If so, you may have gotten the connector into the water, and that hot shorted to ground through the water, blowing the fuse.

Re: Chrome will be blocking some sites.

This kind of thing is ultimately going to lead to the death of the internet, or at least exclusivity in access, due to certain large "caretakers" seeking nothing but more money.
A certain quote seems appropriate here. "Money is the root of all evil".

No matter how unforgiving Darwinism is, there never seems to be a shortage of stupid people.

Re: New EPA fuel tanks

From my understanding, on the "old" pressure tank systems, it wasn't the tank that was the hazard. It was the lines from the tank to the engine that was the thing to be concerned about. Fuel flowing to the engine, under pressure, will perform a quite nice spray pattern from a split or damaged rubber...

Re: Boat ID

Well, the transom brace doesn't match mine. Mine is a cast aluminum, rather than stamped one. My boat is a 10-foot, (but actual distance is closer to 10'6".) That stamped brace could be a year or model difference. Everything else looks the same as mine, though. Even down to the gunwale trim strips a...

Re: Boat ID

How's the foam in the seat structures? (You did find that, didn't you?) Mine still had foam there, but it was in pretty bad shape. I ended up drilling the rivets out, removing the old and installing new foam, then remounting the seats with stainless machine screws, rubber-backed sealing washers, and...

Re: Boat ID

My '68 Richland looks identical as far as seat mounting, with the vertical brace to the keel. The bow grab handle, as well as the stiffeners at an angle in the bow also look the same. Care to toss in a pic of the transom brace? Additionally, mine had a data plate attached to the transom wood, inside...
