Corona Virus

I'm hearing that the military is asking retired members to voluntarily come back in in support of the efforts. The primary needs are the medical fields.

Some stores around here are setting up Senior only shopping hours. One grocery store is actually checking IDs. Local Dollar Generals, regional stores (HyVee and Fareway), have also started senior hours, from 8-9 am. No I.D. checking yet, but ya never know. I'll add my best wishes for your wife's re...

Trouble shoot livewell aerator pump

I've had sump pumps do that, and it turned out to be "air locked". If you confirm that it is wired correctly, try pouring water down the discharge tube to prime it.

Signs from Shells (shotgun & pistols)

Good start to a cottage business. Might I make a suggestion? Cut the plastic hull of the brass, round up an appropriate-sized hole drill to match the brass, and drill through the wood panel, then glue the brass into the holes. Round off the corners of the wood panel. Just might get you a little inco...

Corona Virus

So far, it's hit Iowa rather gently, but there's no massive population centers here, either. Still, I'm 63, and a former smoker. It's the wife I have to be careful for. She's 71, diabetic, suffers from Atrial Fib, and is being treated for stage 4 breast cancer. Trying hard to hole up, with outside t...

Corona Virus

I don't think our leadership has the depth of thought to realize that there will be indirect deaths as a result of the economic harm they've chosen to deliberately cause in their fumbling attempt to try and stop the point-source deaths associated with the virus. There is no way to quantify the indi...

What size wire?

1) Not less than 8 gauge

2) Not less than 10 gauge

You should not suffer any voltage drop, or low voltage problems as the electrical load increases in either circuit with my recommendations.

Best 1980's Power Rock Band Ballads

EYETECH!....c'mon!
A couple in my head, aimed specifically toward women.

Alice Cooper, "Only Women Bleed". (That may be 70's vintage.)
Def Leppard, "Women"

IMO, very good ballads, in honor of women, as only an 80's rock artist can do.

Insurance

So, the insurance company is telling you that a perpetrator on your property that gets injured is of greater value to you by finishing him off and making the body disappear?

I think you're right for starting to shop around.

Thermal circuit breaker

You have yours correctly wired. I can only assume, if those that you've seen had a red wire on one side, and a black wire on the other, and the circuit was working, then whoever wired it used incorrect insulation colors. If you wired a circuit breaker with a positive on one side, and negative on the...

Told ya 'Dubs! This would come back to haunt you.

What's the old saying? "If you don't want to read about it in tomorrow's newspaper, don't put it on the internet today."

Trivia Game Query

Has anybody ever taken an I.Q. test? The reason I ask is that I've noticed an increase in my scores, and am starting to conclude that the game has a lot to do with logical thinking, rather than actual knowledge, and I've heard that an I.Q. test is based like-wise.

Any opinions?

80% AR lowers?

Anyway, so many firearms having passed through so many people's hands and without any laws regarding record keeping on private sales or background checks for them who can say who has what! This too, is true. Makes me wonder how the current crop of Democrat anti's, (any politico, really), are going ...

80% AR lowers?

Where you're at, I can believe it. Here in Iowa, my local "shows" are kinda dismal, so I have to take what I can get all too often. And you're right. The prices of fully machined or stripped lowers are quite attractive, but I wanted the anonymity of an 80% with no paper trail. Thinkin' I might build...
