your favorite .22 ....rifle AND pistol
Gotta love the Rugers for a rifle. Had one in Canada but haven't picked another up in the States yet. I do have an old Remington from .1934 I picked up at an auction. Thing is accurate, but the stock is pretty rough. I will redo it one of these days. This is my recent favorite .22 handgun. GSG-1911

Wood transom ??
It doesn't matter what kind of plywood you use, you should be treating it. Use a spar urethane or epoxy. Do not use pressure treated wood at all.

I have the $14 blue pad from Walmart, i think it was the middle of their line; it was not enough for a good nights sleep...I was able to sleep decent enough but still woke up a few times. My wife hated it.

This is my wife's favorite tool - she said she wanted something she could defend herself with if I was away from camp or she had to kill a snake (she hates snakes). I often carry a light pack like this if we are just short hiking, otherwise I carry a backpack with essentials - the bigger pack probab...

This is our setup. I'll tell you one thing, the desert ground sure is a lot harder than the gassy stuff up home in Canada. The cheap ground mat just doesn't seem to be cutting it over here.

I would probably vote for leaving the rails smooth as well. Of course this is personal preference - I would only have done the floor in it.
Main thing is that it suites you and you are happy being out in it.
Thumbs up.

Coleman lanterns and stoves
Thanks! I have looked it over pretty good and no sign of any date stamp on the usual places. From what I understand it happened sometimes in the fifties that they didn't get a stamp... I didn't even look at it before I bought it - it saw it was in the box still and the one end that I could see was c...

You'll have to get that stuff off there and rebuck the rivets.

Check out today's find...should be a vintage Coleman lovers dream.
It's a Coleman 413E - no date stamp but they were early 50's to 1960, eh?
An estate sale for $10!

Yah I have done the toe thing and actually had the nail bust off below the base...whole nail ended up coming off.
I have also had the nails removed by the doctors a few times...that sucks too.
