14' Arkansas Traveler Mod -- Do Over

I like the 4.5" stainless steel wheel from Harbor Freight on my grinder second to that brass.
Copper and Aluminum don't react well together. Copper is what is in pressure treated wood that's why you don't use it.

Enclosing Portable Gas Tank

I put my tank under a small deck in the front of my duck hunting boat. The deck was far from air tight so I didn't worry to much that and there was no source of ignition near the tank.

You should look into putting modern hubs and wheels on it.

I've never seen one like that.
Is there a reason why you rebuilding that trailer? If you need parts are you going to be able to find them.

2 stroke boat gas in a weed eater.

There is a difference in the 2stroke oils because one is water cooled and the other is air cooled.

Anyone else think that OPs trailer is too small for that boat?

Everything from the winch height to the length of the bunks looks off.
I'd say that's as big as you can go on that trailer.

Never use pressure treated on an aluminum boat. ACX, BCX, CCX even CDX as long as the grade ends in X.

Safe travelling speed on 8 inch tires?

There is the 5.70x8 load range B rated at 715 pounds at 50psi. 1430 pounds for a pair.
I don't know what it's speed rating is.

Safe travelling speed on 8 inch tires?

Traveling at those speeds and weight is not usually an issue, I do it all the time. What size are your bearings? One of my trailers had 3/4" spindles and bearings on that trailer I didn't go fast or far. I have since upgraded the axle to 1-1/16" spindles and bearings.

You need to find out your tow rating. My brother has a 2014 outback and IIRC it has a 2700 pound rating, 3000 pounds if you have the bigger engine.

If you replace the coupler with a bolt type on you can use the bolts to attach the safety chains. I use a ratchet strap going over the boat to the trailer frame rails. I use a self tapping stainless steel screw for my ground but then I continue the ground wire to each light and back to the self tapp...

Resources/input on trailer springs? They're so stiff!

13" tires are fine just get tires that are load rated to match your load and always inflate trailer tires to the max pressure.
