Yes thank you! I bet the dealer will void my 5 year hull warranty and 3 year motor warranty because i had to install my motor correctly.

K because i know i read somewhere like for every inch the plate sets back the motor you need to go 2 inches up. I just took a level and aligned the cav plate. I think its up like 3" higher then original tho.

Done. Had to raise the motor up like 3" more then origional to get the cav plate even. Is that normal??

Help..

Ok i finally got time to install a jackplate. Found it for 100 bucks. Installed with 1/2 in bolts and 3m marine transom sealant. Was just thinking. I can use the 2 EXISTING through bolt holes for the top holes. Get them fastened up then drill 2 more bottom holes since the two top holes are holding on the ob now and they are straight and level.. Make sence?

So mount it up to the ob first while its hanging, then make a template, then template onto hull then drill?

Ok im finally getting my jackplate maybee tomorrow. Is there any tricks on removing motor safely, installing the jackplate (STRAIGHT AND EVEN) and reinstalling motor? I have a 2016 20 hp merc electric start. I really dont want to have to mess up and drill more holes then i need. Any advice? Thx ahea...
