Mounting transducer on TM

I agree with the preference for NOT mounting the TD on to the trolling motor. I did it once, and hated the idea that I didn't have a Transducer when running or moving quickly. Much like the suggestion above, I then mounted it onto my boat ...onto a piece of plastic cutting board..which was affixed t...

Can I use a spare tire donut for my boat trailer?

My "new to me" 16 ft Lowe's trailer has full size tires. It lacks a spare. Since I have never used a spare in many years of boating, I am thinking about picking up a comparable sized "donut-with rim" from a salvage yard. Anyone ever done this? However, it might be that a regular, used, full sized ti...

Post a Pic of your boat!

I guess I originally posted this pix in the wrong forum. Any ways...here is my ten year old, new-to-me Lowe 160W (wide). It is rigged as a bass boat. Has a 40 hp Johnson. First such style (bass-boat) boat ( out of many boats) that I have ever owned. It spent much of its ten year life parked in a boa...

Homemade bunk slicks

Ahhhh Just a word of caution on the various plastic wood materials...The material does not have the same lateral strength/stability as real wood. When I looked at using it for a deck project...most of the recommendations called for much closer spans for support. A friend just used it on his Wisconsi...

Here is my "new to me " ten year old 160W Lowe....all rigged up as a bass boat. Wonder how she will handle our shallow salt flats here in South Texas? Right now, she is at my favorite mechanic getting a good once over. Just to be sure I am not left paddling her back. My old back wouldn't like that m...

Soft water season is about over, now what?

Just ONE of the many reasons I moved from Northern Illinois to Texas 30 yrs ago! I remember the very day that I finally decided to move South. 30 Years ago.... It was about 10 degrees, cold as a Witch's xxx ..I was putting gas in my car....I said "One year from today, I will NOT be here any more." A...

Lowe Roughneck 1752 for $1700, good deal?

Probably too late with this reply...but....I just sold a boat. Three guys wanted it badly. Only one would make the commitment (sight unseen) and wound up with the boat. He was 350 miles away but made the trip over the weekend. Every one else was left out in the cold. If you REALLY think it is the ri...

Bassgeek....re the price on motors....you'd be surprised at how many small; old; unused o/b motors there are sitting in someone's garage or basement. Keep asking everyone you know...someone will have one. Grandpa dies; no one in the family needs it...so they put it in the back of the garage. and let...

fender.,,,,,thanks..... As far as asking about boats...by now...I have figured out how to buy and sell them. But, somehow, every one I buy.... I think it is going to be the LAST boat I ever buy. Then, a year or two later ( or sometimes less) I find something about it that says it has to go. I've kep...

Two inch foam

Yes, that has been my experience. You can't walk through a HD or Lowes up North without seeing stacks and stacks of it. Down here ( South TX ) I've never seen any at any location. I don't know what your application is, but would a pouring foam work for you? You probably can buy that down South. Rich

Good morning. Well, as of yesterday, I became a new ( to me ) owner of a "tin boat". This isn't my first "tin boat: nor is it, by any stretch.. my first boat. My wife, of 50 years, tells me I"ve owned over 25 boat during our marraige....but heck, who is counting! I bought a ten year old 16 ft Lowe w...
