thanks pappy, I got it to start and run for a bit, but I think the carb will need to be worked as it runs in start but dies in slow and sputters in high. so I think some gasket meteral and to clean it will be next.

any body know the difference between the sea king and the Clinton chief ? other than one was sold by wards. and who makes after market parts for them?

I am about to buy a sea king 3.5 hp the model number is j3501106 and the type is a 6027003 r dose any body know who makes this motor ? as it seams they were farmed out by Montgomery wards . so if it needs parts I can try to hunt then down and get the right ones that fit. thanks in advance.

I have mine zip tied to my trolling motor, and it works fine no snags yet as a transom mount. my transducer wire is on the left side and power and finder are on the right. so I get no inoferance.

now I have a minkota transom mount , and I just got a motor guide bow mount given to me . bouth are 30lb thrust and 12v. as for boat 10' by 36". my queston is wich one is better, and why , as for easy use and reviews if you own one.

I have a motorcycle agm battery as a backup, it says 1 amp for 10 hours charge. I charge mine at 2 amps for 5 hours or less if I don't use it. my main battery is a stowaway 1000 ca/ 800 cca, and I charge at 10 amps to maintain for 1 hour a day. and this may not be the pefered way but it works...

thanks for the looks, I took all the tape off of it and it turns out it is a two wire they added a three wire plug so I just cut the plug off. tested it worked well now to store it for back up.

I got this thing from me cousin and it has a black wire yellow wire and white wire on a circle plug . how do I wire this thing to use directly off battery and what wire is the hot . it has a foot petal and is a bow mount, plus I need to find out if it works.

I have 10' 36" sears, how or where can I put a live well? or should I make one out of an ice chest with a bubbler? as I don't want to be crowed.

I have been thinking about one, my boat has no plug, and for a 10'36" , do I need a bilge pump or not ? and what size gpm. or manual type. it is an odd thing with no plug, just a thought do I need a plug if the 1970 sears was made with out one?

I was thinking about an 18' by what ever for the lake when I buy my next one, or one I can use at the coast and lake that will hold me and some one else because the river is narrow in some spots only 14' wide and others less with the drought. 212 lb. is befor gear is not my issue it might be...

my thought was shallow draft , as the reason why I got mine, even though it is 10' 36" for the river and it being a drought year . there are still spots I can't run, and I would run them in the past.

hi caveman85 if you like that 10' of yours get a handle extender for that tiller and sit in the middle like I do, I am 212 and with battery and gear and safety stuff it is kinda tight but i'm not looking for more than a truck bed filler for the river. but in a few years I will get a larger one...

I wonder why this thing would power off on it's own I have it and my trolling motor on the same battery . and some times when I stoped the trolling motor the fish finder would shut off.
