When looking into fish finders what are the key things to look for. I was told that the higher the peak to peak watts the better. What else would one need to look at? The fishing I would use it for would be trolling for salmon and lake trout as well as bass. No salt water just fresh water...

After many hours of thought and work I finally installed my down riggers and also added some rod holders. Also made a small deck above gas tank/battery area.

My opinion: color is cool but you just want to see if there are fish and the depth. Also something to consider, everything is made out of plastic these days and we all know that plastic does not last forever (except in the land fills) so moving one back and forth would mean eventually something...

Just looked at the pics again and noticed he even set it up with a lock. The guy did a great job. The part i like is its simplicity.

Thank you all, I knew that this was the site to get the info i needed. Also checked some of the boat mods and found a nice simple bracket design that will most likely work very well for my boat.

OK this will sound dumb, but is the head the top control portion or the bottom prop portion?

Could anyone tell me or show me pics on how to reverse the head on a transom mount minn kota trolling motor? I have a lack of space on the transom and now I need to do a bow mount. Also anyone know if anyone sells the bow mount kit seperatly?

I have been overlooking Hardwatergrampas shoulder at this site since this summer and I find this to be a very resourceful site. I got ideas for my downriggers from here. So i just joined and will forward this to someother friends. Good luck with the goal.
