Everyone knows about the knights of the round table. But do you know which 1 built the round table? It was Sir Cumference

NOCO Battery Jump Starter - Any Good?

I hope Honda OB's are easier to pull than their EFI ATV's. We have a 500 foreman and if the battery is dead you're flocked! You can try to pull start it, but it ain't happening. You can't pull start it, push start it nadda. When you're pulling a trailer full of decoys at 4:00a.m. is not when...

Motor oil 5W-30 okay even though 10W-30 recommended?

5w/30 vs 10/w30 are both considered a 30 weight oil when measured at normal operating temps(100°c/212°f), and will remain the same viscosity at any temps at/near/above that. The 5w/10w is the oil's viscosity when measured at low temps(0°c/32°f). And really only tells you how the oil flows when...

A quick survey who trailers their boat with the motor in gear?

On my 06 9.9merc putting it in fwd releases the title mechanism.

A quick survey who trailers their boat with the motor in gear?

Hey, no problem. Always fun and helpful on tinboats. But, after looooong consideration I have a new plan. I'm going to install a receiver hitch on the FRONT of my truck like they do at some marinas. Then I'm going to push my boat to the lake next time and see if unobstructed air flow makes a...

A quick survey who trailers their boat with the motor in gear?

DUUUUDE, oil guys are/can be some whacked out fanatics! The stuff they study and break down is impressive. I'm on a couple oil BBS's from time to time and they are some anal MF'rs. As a side note, I'm a big fan of Amsoil and have run it in my last 2 pickups totaling just shy of 600K miles. I...

A quick survey who trailers their boat with the motor in gear?

In theory yes, but according to this website it may take a minute to charge a battery! Running a Brushed DC Motor as a Generator. Circuits and definitely circuit analysis is WAY outta my depth

A quick survey who trailers their boat with the motor in gear?

That's funny, glad to see someone still uses a thesaurus. But I meant no disrespect. You guys are a wealth of info here, and know way more than I probably ever will about boat stuff. But, motors/gears are in my wheelhouse. However, since you asked. No, not an engineer. But it's my 30+ yrs as a...

A quick survey who trailers their boat with the motor in gear?

This thread makes me laugh. Clearly you guys don't work with bearings, gears, shafts and seals.

    Do it yourself honing?

A lot of people are intimidated by 2strokes and by boat engines in general. Having done many, many 2strokes while I and later my kids raced dirtbikes it's not really that big a job. If it were my stuff, the first thing I would do is get a fine pick and try to pick the transferred aluminum off...

Balancing a 12ft Jon Boat well with oversized Outboard motor (20hp)

So, the advice that you've already gotten is more than spot on and prudent. But, BUT,I'm that guy that wants to see video of this setup running. So my request is make sure you have your tether hooked to your life vest, THAT YOU'RE WEARING and then let this thing eat. WITH VIDEO PLEASE. I...

    What would you do?

If you're looking for OEM hull parts, I'm willing to bet a dealer is the only place you'll find them. Same as with a car, you won't find parts to fix the glove box at a parts store. You'll have to bight the bullet on their price. But, having said all that. How did they turn the inside bracket...

If you live in Pa. Don't buy a trailer without a title

In Ohio we don't have titles for trailers(at least not for 16' and less). If you bought it new it will come with a COO, but still not get a title just plates and a registration. If you buy it used without a title you fill out an "Affidavit of ownership" and you get plates and a registration...

1994 Spectrum 16 Sport Rebuild? - Bouncing ideas around

What length did you cut them past the inside of the wood?? I will be putting in my motor well drains this weekend. Moeller's instructions say to leave 1/4" beyond the transom. But it looks like that is with the extra spacer(for an aluminum skin only) correct??

    Floatation foam

Oh for focks sake, how many among us have survived some really dumb chit we did in our 20's?? I have a list of stuff that should have killed me! As I read it, he was near shore, got swamped(maybe even flipped) by a wave and managed to get the boat back right side up. However all of his gear was...

What wood to use to replace transom?

I have the old transom out of my 82 SeaNymph. What do you suppose we're looking at around the bottom bolt holes? It is the side facing the aluminum skin. It's silver in color but doesn't appear to be any sort of sealant. I'm just as curious as to how they got it in there??

What wood to use to replace transom?

Did we ever get an answer to how the OTF stacks up to epoxy?? If we did I missed it. Also, how long does it take OTF to fulling dry/cure??

Looking to purchase a new Truck....what have you purchased?

I must have misunderstood. I thought you were saying that the 3/4 gas Fords could get as much as the 150's

Looking to purchase a new Truck....what have you purchased?

MMMMMM I don't know about that. I thought the F150 gassers got 17-19mpg?? I have a 22 F250 4x4 CCLB with the 7.3l gas, and in 28K miles I only average a bit over 13mpg. It's right @15mpg on the highway no trailer driving like I got some sense. But to the OP, I couldn't be happier with...
