I use that in my jon boats... great stuff.... I was going to use that but the expense and how much it would take to fill each toon was $$$$. I did some research and what I bought is called GeoFoam.. never heard of it, but the research I did says its waterproof .... does not soak up the water...

Welding process..... my practice welds Welding up the front sections welding the 10 foot sections to the front 40 inch sections Welding the back plates on The 1/8" - 1x1 aluminum tube for supports..... 16 inches from the back, then one where the 10 foot section meets the front section...

Hey DrNip, You might consider leaving about a 2 to 4 inch gap in the very middle of the boat where the foam is. This way larger items will drain easier... I originally put my foam across the entire floor and had drainage issues... I then modified it and left a 3 inch gap right in the middle...

I have owned bigger boats (17 and 19ft)... my little 1248 is my absolute favorite thus far... i just hope the 15 footer isn't too big!! Those little boats with 2 guys are perfect!

Wind sucks no matter what... try fish8ng in pontoon in the wind.. i just have 10 year hand control mounted on front.. works fine. I got out quite a bit.. mostly fri or sat nites catfishing

Well... I used my little weldbilt all summer long.. mostly running trotlines and banklines on the river. Never had an issue or a scare or anything. Only complaint I had was the little 18hp tohatsu has no power to plane the boat with 2 or 3 guys in it. Gonna buy a 20hp Suzuki EFI this winter...
