    1968 K-Craft Project - First Boat 14' length 36' bottom

The Bow Step was shot on it due to them using it for a jumping platform of something. It was really bent up and broke all the original rivets and they redrilled and put in Hollow Rivets. While i was welding the cracks, i filled in all the rivet holes except for the originals. I decided i would...

    Yoyo's in transit?

Yea, the 5 gallon bucket does work really good but like i said, i keep the bucket in the center of the boat and i sit on the side of it while hanging them out. I usally get 4 or 5 hooks tangled in my pants leg in a night. I did think about using a StyroFoam minnow bucket and having the barb...

    Fix holes in the boat

This can be fixxed. I would start by contouring the surface back to the original shape. Then make a patch that is about 2 inches bigger than the hole all the way around. Weld around the outside of the patch on the outside and then weld the hole itself to the patch on the inside of the boat. I...

Nissan/Tohatsu 9.9 two stroke upgrade(I wanna make it fast)

More Air in means more fuel in which makes more power. Bigger Carb and intake ports are a must on N/A engines. On top of that, Porting requires not really bigger but better flow. You can gouge out the intake port and actually do more damage to the cfm than you do good. Two stroke engines also...

I have always hauled my boat in the back of the truck but with the planned Decking coming up, i decided i needed a trailer. I was wanting to get some advise on how where the boat should ride and what not. Basically get some of the "I would do this" or "What ever you do, dont do this" type of...

    Benifits of Marine grad plywood

If i have heard correctly, marine grade and exterior are pretty much the same except Marine doesnt have any voids in the layers. For decking and what not, everyone pretty much just uses exterior grade ply.

    Brazing vs. Welding for Aluminum

From what i have noticed, temperature is key. You want to have the temperature around 730ish degrees. The material (Brazing Rods) will melt at much lower than that. I think it is in the area 550 degrees? Get the metal hot and allow the rod to melt on the clean, roughened surface. This is the...

    Silicone Removal

I am tearing down a boat that i got a few weeks ago to repair the hull the correct way. I stumbles upon a patch that was done really crappy and decided to remove it and fix it the right way. Well, the patch they applied didnt work so they filled under the rib where the hole was located with...

how to straighten gunwhale on aluminum jon

Also, tap the metal as you move it with a hammer. The vibration fom the shock will allow the metal to release more as you move it and be less likely to crack. Take it slow and tap, tap, tap. We use this when straightening frames. You would be supprised how much more you can move a piece of metal...
