    14' Starcraft Seafarer Build

I have the same model but with 4 seats.. Can't remember what the model is.. I really want to remove the second seat from the back to give me some floor space. I don't see where you did any bracing to replace the bracing from the origional seat.. What were your thoughts on it? Thanks!

Fuel tank vent.. Leave open or closed for storage?

Sounds like we all went through the lesson then.. :D I went ahead and replaced the cracked 6 gallon tank with a smaller 3 gallon.. Makes it easier to just pull out and stick in the shed at the end of the day.. Shed is climate controlled to 78ºF so no worries of getting too hot...

    On-Board Charger or Portable Charger

I bet his name was David... :) That seems like a pretty broad statement to me.. But I guess they know best..

    On-Board Charger or Portable Charger

But why is my question.. I get that it will take longer.. And I understand the self discharge idea, but 4 amps is still pretty good in my mind...

    On-Board Charger or Portable Charger

I've included a link I'll host for the Manual in PDF form for that charger.. It says max of Group 24 or 75ah.. You can join both outputs for 8 amps.. So you can double the size then to 150ah... https://putfile.synced-up.com/putfile/Guest/16082.pdf

    On-Board Charger or Portable Charger

Yeah, I saw that too.. Just got off the phone with Guest and they are suposedly sending a manual via email about it.. I asked the tech guy about the size issue.. He said try to follow the 10% rule.. I asked what the downside of that was.. He said more wear and tear and possible premature...

Fuel tank vent.. Leave open or closed for storage?

I always kept it closed.. However, I had a crack form along the seam on my previous tank.. A couple gallons ended up sitting in the back of the boat for a few days saturating my paint nicely... :) I'm assuming the pressure had built up enough to cause a stress crack in the tank.. Anyhow, a...

Remove middle seat idea for bracing...

Yeah, I am planning on a 2x2 of wood, or 1x2 of aluminum channel if I can find some at work, running from the back seat to the 2nd seat on each side.. It will run right through all 3 of the brackets on the side for the benches.. I really think it won't be too much of an issue.. The sides of...

I unfortunately do not have ribs all the way up the side.. Here is a pic of my boat.. Front seat was utilized for some bow storage..

Remove middle seat idea for bracing...

I saw this on another guys boat.. Thought it may be a good option to removing my middle seat.. (I have 4 benches, the 2nd from the back) I would run one down each side from seat to seat.. Then take the floatation foam from my seat and cut it to where it would fit under the 2x4.... I would...

Looking for recommendations on Boat Insurance

I've had luck with progressive.. They paid a tow bill on a set of Jet Skis I had just purchased and was bringing home.. Cost over $300 to get it towed.. Middle of the night, special rollback.. But they paid.. :) And it's like $100 a year for my 14'er

    Lets talk props

What size boat? To get higher RPM's you would tend to drop prop pitch.. But you will lose some top end speed most likely.....

    Middle Seat removal and support....

Ok, that's what I thought.. Just didn't want to get taken off guard by some weird law of physics that the boat will fall apart going down the road on the trailer.. Hehehe...

Am I trying to keep the sides of the boat from opening up or pushing in? Or both? :)

Any reason I should not attach floor to ribs?

Ok, that explains things a lot better.. I really like the ladder you used for the rear.. Great idea! I was thinking of just cutting to width and then forming the plywood by just pulling it down in the middle.. My ribs are pretty flat till they get to the sides.. What thickness ply did you...

How do you know if what you are getting is closed cell or not? Is the pink stuff at the home stores closed cell??

Can you please explain the notches a little better? Would you happen to have a photo or two? Thanks everyone!!

Any reason I should not attach floor to ribs?

I was to lay some plywood in the bottom of my Mod-V and am thinking the best way to attach is to anchor it to the ribs.. Is there any reason I should not? Also, what method should I use to anchor it to the ribs?? Thanks!!

Yamaha 15hp flooding carb.... Sticking float...

It ran fine all season last year, but was running crummy this season so I took the carb off to clean and it has done it ever since.. Fuel comes out the top plate of the carb when pumping the primer bulb... I usually just pump once and tap on the side of the carb, then continue pumping to get...
