    Salt water

So I'm moving to NH soon and I have a 14 ft aluminum boat that is pretty beaten up. The paint is faded and scratched and is really bad on the inside. My question is I will be using it for clamming and fishing. So it will be exposed to a lot of brackish and salt water. Do I need a certain type of...

well 1236 sold today now time to make the big plunge monday

get the 1442 for 300 dollars more its definatly worth it. And not trying to be an *** but it sounds like you dont keep boats long so you may want to go used seeing as you will never be able to make money off a new boat unless you get a really good deal which neither of those are. there good...

    1036 alumacraft

For the question about the motor it is more about weight than about hp in my opinion. I had a 1032 with a 4 hp evinrude from '82 and it did fine but the motor only weighed about 40 lbs. a new 4 stroke motor that is only 4 hp weighs 58 lbs compared to a new 4 stroke 3 hp which weighs 38 lbs. A...

Then I disconnected all the electronics, fishfinder, fuse panel, toggle switches etc. Then i cut out the board on either side and pulled it out along with...

Has anybody here done conversions on a aluminum run-about?

I have a 1986 starcraft runabout which had the covered bow and windshield. I took the winshield out and cut 18 inches into the covered part of the bow and then added several pieces of wood under the covered section and now the deck is strong enough to stand on.
