    Anyone spray their trailer?

The boat trailer is finally "built," but now I need to paint it. I will be priming it with SPI epoxy primer, but I'm not sure what to paint with over the top. I don't really want to spend more than ~$40 on paint, but I want something that will be durable. I thought about some "Rustoleum...

Bow eye / winch hook question.

I've got a small problem (I hope) in that, the hook on my winch is not big enough to fit around the front handle on my boat. See the picture below to see what I mean: I've contemplated a few things, but do you guys have any suggestions? I thought about putting a big carabiner or something...

Not sure what to do here...

I am building my trailer (finally) and I'm not sure how to get around this problem. On the bracket where the front leaf spring bolts into, it is deformed (Thanks to the previous owner over-tightening it). Instead of looking like |__| it looks more like /__\ (slightly exaggerated). This...

Having a hard time finding a part

I'm trying to find a rubber flanged bushing for my leaf springs on my jon boat trailer. This is what trailerpartdepot.com offers, but I don't want to pay $10 in shipping for 8 bushings - that's ludicrous. This is nylon, not rubber, but it would do. It's not long enough, and I'd really...

    mysavioreigns' trailer project

I guess since I've been here a few weeks and asked a few questions, I'd start a thread showing my trailer build. I have a 1436 old Jon Boat, that honestly I don't know much about, other than it floats and fishes well :) I got really tired of loading it into the back-end of my pickup truck...

    help sanding trailer

I have a trailer that needs a lot of TLC -surface rust, 2 layers of paint, mud, etc. Problem is, I can't figure out how to sand the inside of the frame channels. I have a 4" angle grinder but it's just barely too big. The wire wheels and wire cups work okay but won't remove the original paint...

    Painting

I'd like to put Steelflex on the bottomside of my 1436, and paint the inside and exterior sides (I think I'll run the steelflex up the side to about 3" from the top). Question I have is, I had heard you should paint the bottom a dark color, and it should not be glossy. Is this true? The...

    Seats question

Hello all. I've got a 1436 that I'm getting ready to start working on & modifying. Eventually I plan on installing decking and carpeting and such, but because it's a 36" boat, I've decided the decks will be very low. Originally I had planned on putting a tall seat on a front casting deck...
