    My New (old) Monark

I'm really not sure how to find the year. There isn't much info about these old boats on the web. My data plate was painted over but luckily I got the old registration from the previous owner. My boat is a 1983.

1978 MonArk 1644P Aluminum Bass Boat in Ky

well when I say bad, I don't mean just loose. Many of the rivet heads (just in the path of the bunks) were worn down to almost nothing. There was a couple basically missing. So i took a chizel and removed the heads on all the bad ones. Took a punch and knocked them all the way out. I went...

Yes i'm going to use the 2 part foam for the voids. It was suggested to me and I think it is the best idea. If you haven't seen already make sure to put flashing or something down so the foam doesn't fill the water channels and prevent any water from moving aft.

1978 MonArk 1644P Aluminum Bass Boat in Ky

Heated garage? Extra help? Def going to win. Be careful when you go to flip it upside down to paint and steelflexx. It is really heavy and the airvents (each side of rear deck) and motor control mounting box will crush pretty easy. What we did was push it up on its side, and as we lowered it...

    My New (old) Monark

I don't really have a good place to paint either. It barely fits in my garage and it isn't heated. I will prob brush paint it and get a propane heater. Haven't really settled on color yet, but I am leaning towards a Tan (leather) color with camo stenciling over it. The boat will also be a...

No I didn't get a test ride unfortunately. I have done alot of work to it already. (will update pictures soon). I took the boat up to my uncle's house and with some help removed the motor and trolling motor and flipped the boat upside down. No easy task this thing is heavy. It took 4 of us...

Thanks for all the comments guys, keep em comin. Yeah the vents are opposite for "cross ventilation" in the battery/fuel compartment. If it isn't sealed off, it will be when I am done with it. The boat had sat out in the weather for a long time uncovered. It took on a lot of water and I...

    My New (old) Monark

I just bought this 1983 Monark a few days ago for $1700, the way you see it. Almost 17' long and just over 6' wide at the top of the sides. It has a 70hp Mercury. Runs good but needs a new water pump. There are several things I want to do to her, so any help along the way is appreciated...
