    My completed Duck/Fishing boat project

ip68 strip, red only and five meters long with 3m tape backing, cut in half. I think it was the 3528 version, which is plenty bright. Soldered them and filled end caps with rtv silicone to maintain waterproofing and stuck them on with double sided extra strength foam tape, the 3m that comes on...

    My completed Duck/Fishing boat project

Don't have any good pictures of the blind set up, but it is a scissor blind with 3 flip roof hatches that are attached with door hinges and big cotter pins. Here is my main man with a few birds before the headlights were installed.

    My completed Duck/Fishing boat project

Thanks to some helpful tips from the forums here, I finally was able to complete my boat. Started as a bare 1648 Tracker Grizzly bought used. Added: -lightbar and fog lights for morning marsh hunts (installed using track system to avoid drilling holes) -red interior waterproof LED strips...

    Splicing different gauge wires

Right on, lots of information there thanks fellas. To be honest it is for 16 foot aluminum duck boat, so I am taking everything into account but i'm not running a whole lot of power at the end of the day (light bar and fog lights, led's under the gunnel on the inside, and as well on the...

    Splicing different gauge wires

Just want to double check to make sure it’s ok to splice different gauge wires together for a low voltage (12 volt system) the wires won’t be drastically different (14-16, 18-20) as long as the smallest wire is still capable of carrying the load correct? Like my other post a lot of the...

    Accessorie wires not large enough

Thought about it but if I am by myself that would be pretty inconvenient, especially if I need to turn off the headlights quickly do to another boat or something.

    Accessorie wires not large enough

Did some research, would a 4 pin 87 relay work? So i would wire the ground from the lights to the negative bus bar, ground from the relay to the negative bus bar, then the power from the fuse panel to the relay, then relay power to lights, and finally relay to switch?

    Accessorie wires not large enough

I wanted the battery stored in the front cubby but I’m starting to think now that it might just be easier for the wiring if I have it at the back. Just sucks because it takes up my foot space when raising my engine and adds even more weight along with the fuel tank and me. And I’ll have to get a...

    Accessorie wires not large enough

16 feet. Battery at the front, back to the switch at the back of the boat, up to the lights at the bow. And all the online gauge calculators say to do the round trip. The wires aren’t running tip to tip, but they are being tucked away and run along seems and gunnels to make them hidden, that...

    Accessorie wires not large enough

Another question. My light bar and fog lights, as well as I’m sure a lot of other accessories out there, don’t have a large enough gauge wire coming out of them for the run I’m making. So do I just go with roughly the same size wire and hope for the best or how do you get around this? From what...

    Wiring Layout

Ya I double checked I think the 5m led strips are actually 2.5 amps. The light bar is 72 watts and the fog lights are 72 Watts combined, so 12 amps total. I was looking at 6 gauge wire (what I calculated I need to run the 12 amps for the lights the length of the boat to the switch and then up...

    Wiring Layout

Thanks very much for the resource. I looked it up and I think I can get away with 6 gauge, if I’m understanding it right with the 12 amp load, still big wire though. I guess I should clarify, the fog lights and light bar are on one switch, inside light strips on their own switch, and outside...

    Wiring Layout

Hi guys, wanted to run my plan by you guys and see what you think and if it is feasible. For a 2011 Tracker 1648 mod v. This is after months of trying to do research and piece it all together where I have no electrical experience whatsoever. Accessories: Led light bar and 2 fog lights on bow...

    Newer Tracker Grizzlys

Oh right on, I would like to not drill as much as possible so thats good news. My main concern is keep it neat and tidy. Did you do anything about the black plastic plugged holes where they spray foamed the walls? Some people recommend caulking or doing something about those so water doesnt...

    Newer Tracker Grizzlys

Awesome! Great review the more detailed the better, I'm interested in the 1648 mvx as well. . I have read some bad reviews about them but then went to a couple of different brands' Facebook pages and Tracker had the highest rating after it seemed like everyone was trashing them. Every brand...

    Newer Tracker Grizzlys

Wondering if anyone has experience with the quality of Tracker Grizzlys over the last couple years?. I read that some people have weld problems with them and others don't. I think in 2015 they brought back their 5 year hull warranty. I have read a lot of reviews and forums but couldn't find one...
