G3 MV 175 Pro Skiff Build

Tiller parts came from Boats.net. You'll need the tiller handle and the fit kit for your specific motor. For the 60/70 2-stroke the fit kit is part number 6X4-42102-53-00. The main handle is part number 6X4-42103-5C-00. Price was $617.75 for everything.

Thanks! It was a steal at $1200

G3 MV 175 Pro Skiff Build

A little update. I wrapped up the cockpit area for now. I reused the existing side panel and fit the switch panel and gauges to it. I'll eventually make a new panel, but this will do for the time being. I still need to make new hatch lids for the front deck. I also added a jack plate to try...

G3 MV 175 Pro Skiff Build

I sold my previous tin boat project after last summer, and swore off aluminum boats. The boat was good to me, and I went about as far as I could with a custom Jonboat, but it was time for me to jump over to a fiberglass boat. I wasn't in any rush so I started leisurely searching for my next...

    Locating Screw Holes

A little late as always, but the tool you were looking for in your original post is a set of transfer screws. They're great to have around the shop! They can be had from many tool retailers online as well as Amazon.

    1989 Duracraft 1854 XL Project

Looking good! I've been using the same pneumatic rivet gun for probably close to 15 years now without any issues. It sure is a time saver.

    Rivets again: rivet bucking tools.

I'm a little late to the party, but if you have extensive riveting to do a true 3x or 4x rivet gun is worth its weight in gold. Of course I understand most not wanting to spend the $$ but having the ability to creep up on the trigger makes a huge difference vs. the go/no go of an air...

1860 Tracker Grizzly Rebuild Project...Tower Boat Build!

Thanks! I say go for it as long as the tower doesn't limit you due to fixed bridges. Mine does keep me out of certain areas that were accessible before.

2007 Custom Tracker Grizzly 1860 Tower Boat With 90 HP Mariner

I've decided that despite my recent rebuild it's time for me to move on to something a little more family friendly. With 3 small children I simply need more room. I am selling my 2007 Grizzly 1860 that has had a lot of work done over the years. It is powered by a 1996 Mariner 90 HP 2-stroke...

1860 Tracker Grizzly Rebuild Project...Tower Boat Build!

Well I finally made it out on the water today. I still need to finish up some paint and latches on the hatches, and reinstall my side panels but the rigging is done. I took it for a shakedown run and it handled about as expected. It is inherently a little more "tippy" but far from actually...

1860 Tracker Grizzly Rebuild Project...Tower Boat Build!

Not a whole lot new to show I've just been working on the wiring and some hatch lids. The box below the tower serves as a passthrough and junction box for the wiring and controls. It is also where the house battery will be located. The livewells have lids now. I just need to paint, kiwi, add...

1860 Tracker Grizzly Rebuild Project...Tower Boat Build!

Working on rigging and wiring a little today. It's WAAAAYYYY too hot down here in South FL for it only being June. Umbrella and two blower fans are now standard equipment for working outside.

1860 Tracker Grizzly Rebuild Project...Tower Boat Build!

I don't have any pictures during construction but I'll get one to help show the frame/lip. It's just two different angles welded together. I really battled myself over what to do on the floor for years. I knew I wouldn't do carpet on a tin boat again. I don't have an opinion on the Kiwigrip...

1860 Tracker Grizzly Rebuild Project...Tower Boat Build!

I may cut some strips from a tubing later on and radius the corners. I'm just tired of messing with this thing and want to get it back on the water. I don't want to waste the whole summer working on my boat and not fishing

1860 Tracker Grizzly Rebuild Project...Tower Boat Build!

Finally a bit of progress. The tower is complete and back from powder coating. I got it mounted in the boat this afternoon. The livewells are guttered, painted, and set in place. I still need to plumb them to be complete. Now it's on to rigging and wiring.

1860 Tracker Grizzly Rebuild Project...Tower Boat Build!

It's for the change of scenery! The elevated platform is great for sight fishing. You'd be amazed at the difference of 3' makes in being able to see fish. The "tower" boat thing is pretty centered around the gulf coast from Florida to Texas.

1860 Tracker Grizzly Rebuild Project...Tower Boat Build!

Spent a late night in the shop on Friday and managed to get the decks prepped, primed, and Kiwigrip applied. I'm satisfied with the results for my first time using any of the products involved. Only time will tell how it holds up.

1860 Tracker Grizzly Rebuild Project...Tower Boat Build!

Got the livewells built and fitted over the last couple days. I still need to frame/gutter the the top edges and build lids. They're not ideal with squared off corners, but it was the best use of space building them this way and following the side of the boat. I also have the deck trimmed and...

1860 Tracker Grizzly Rebuild Project...Tower Boat Build!

Unfortunately it was another slow week on the boat, but the tower is out for final weld up and I went ahead and popped the back deck. I removed the old foam and have a decent idea of what I want to do. My plan is two approximately 20 gallon live wells one on each side with a rear access port for...
