    check for waterlogged foam weighing it down...that would be my best geuss....my 1240 planes right out with 2 big guys so i dont see why it shouldnt plane...if you need a second set of eyes let me know im just down the street

    got the new outboard, a battery battery box, 3 gal fuel cell and mounted the seat...i post pics tomorrow went with the yamaha f9.9 2011 model.. :mrgreen: i love it. :mrgreen:

    Lowe 1236 Conversion

    go with a 9.9. a 5 hp would possibly plane it out with one small guy but with 2 guys and gear would only move the boat maybe 5-7mph. a decent 9.9 you would be able to take the full load and run on plane. on my 1240 with 9.9 and 600lbs of gear and people i hit 21mph average :D

    figure you run 50 to 1 in 5 gallons and say you have a 25 gallon tank so that's 250 to 1 its not gonna cause a problem... we add fuel treatment and whatnot alot more than 250 than one as long as it isn't every tank of fuel it wouldn't be a problem \:D/

    most likely you didn't put the spring on the needle onto the float thus the needle is stuck in the seat causing lack of flow
