Thanks for the reply Dave. Well this gets more confusing because I have been told that the old ones just had the model number on the tag. no HIN.

I have an old AT tinny from late 50's to early 60's I need to know the location of the HIN, if it is stamped into the hull, I am having trouble finding it because the boat has been repainted. I need to know where to look.

You need to Check with the State in question(SC) I live in California, and the way I understand it here, I can go to the Colorado river between Cali and AZ but only launch from the Cali side.

So no one knows about AT's?

Also need location of HIN. I think the boat is a '59, '60 or '61
