I was wondering I am building my first jon and need to know if I should support the transom for my outboard or should I just put the motor on without doing anything. Ive seen a mount that the motor sits in. Do I need one?

Hey just signed up here after watching some you tube stuff. My question is I want to convert a jon to a small bass boat. Should i look for used or buy a new boat? I have been looking at the tracker 15 topper or the lowe mod v 16 any help is appreciated.
