    Lowe 1448

Just finished my project and have been on the water 3 times. Couldn't be happier. I just posted it tonight. Here is the link if you want to check it out. https://www.tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=20384

    2006 Lowe 1448MT Project

After about 3 and a half weeks of non stop work, my 2006 Lowe 1448MT modification is finished. I've taken her out to Lake Mead 3 times now and couldn't be happier with the results. The added weight in the front has really improved the way the boat handles and cuts through the water. I've only...

    Lowe 1448

I just finished the last of my frame work today and cut my plywood decks. Time for water proofing. I too would've loved to use aluminum, but dang it's too pricey, plus I don't TIG weld or know anyone who does. I used all 2x2's for my frame. One thing I learned that I would recommend to you if...

    Hatch carpeting question

Wow. I didn't figure on giving that much room. Good idea. I'll definitely experiment with a scrap piece before I make the trimming cut on my hatches. This was my first time buying marine carpet. I thought about just going with 16 oz., but not knowing anything about it, I figured with all the...

    Hatch carpeting question

I just cut out the holes and hatches for my plywood deck. I'm carpeting the deck and hatches with 20 oz. marine carpet. I'm using aluminum piano hinges on the hatches that's 3/16" thick at the top of the hinge. I'm wondering if trimming the hatches so there is 1/4" gap will be enough room for...

    Bus Bar Help

Thanks for the info. I'll just keep mine hooked to the main battery and use that as a deciding factor if I start having problems. If that happens, then I'll buy a lawnmower battery for the FF and lights. No need for 2 full size batteries since my motor is a pull start.

    Battery Placement

I'm pulling a 14' Lowe 1448MT with a Ford F250, so weight on the tongue really isn't an issue for me. I do appreciate all the comments though. I'm going to wire it for the back of the boat and see how the weight plays out with the new decks. I may put it up front once just to see how it handles...

    Bus Bar Help

What kind of Minn Kota and fish finder do you have? I just got a Minn Kota Edge 45 and a Hummingbird 170. Neither one are the high end models, but I wonder if I'll have the same problem.

    Battery Placement

Thanks for the info. After much debate, I decided to leave the battery in the back and buy the 6 AWG wire. Got it for $1.24 per foot with free shipping from https://shop.genuinedealz.com/Marine%20Grade%20Wire/Marine%20Battery%20Cable/6%20AWG%20Battery%20Cable%20UL/?sck=14560242 I think you...

    Bus Bar Help

I ordered the same switch you did from iboats.com. Got my 6 AWG wire from Genuinedealz.com for $1.24 per foot and free shipping. Here's the link... https://shop.genuinedealz.com/Marine%20Grade%20Wire/Marine%20Battery%20Cable/6%20AWG%20Battery%20Cable%20UL/?sck=14560242 I also shopped around...

    Lowe 1448

Very similar to what I'm doing except I ran the deck from the middle seat to the existing deck on the front. My bow is a little different in that it has the V bow. There will me a lip there, but I didn't like the deck being so long and high with my kids on board. So far it looks like it's going...

    Battery Placement

Yes, I have a 20hp Honda 4 stroke. My boat has always been real high in the front with the motor, battery and gas tank in the rear. I'm sure having the deck will help with that, but I'm still thinking about where to put the battery. I guess my whole point of moving the battery was to avoid...

    Battery Placement

Hello, After peaking in on this website for almost a year, I finally decided to get my Jon boat modification going. I have a 2006 Lowe 1448MT that I'm now a few days into rigging the supports for the deck. I figured I would have a few questions here and there so I decided to join the club today...

    Lowe 1448

What are you using for your control panel box? Will it house your fuses, breakers, bus block, ect? I'm getting close to being done with my frame work and have been running the wiring ideas through my head. I'm toying with the idea of putting my 27 series deap cycle battery up front below the...

    Lowe 1448

I'm going to be real interested to see how your project moves along. I just started a modification on my 2006 Lowe 1448MT a few days ago. Sounds like we are planning on making some of the same changes. I have a 2003 Honda 20hp four stroke, so my weight issues are similar to yours. I had a small...
