I have a 1448 Big Jon and am putting in aluminum floors. Any reccomendations as to what guage aluminum should I use. I plan on putting down 3/4 inch square aluminum over the braces running front to back. I was thinking every 9 inches or so.

I like the idea and set-up. Did you wire into the extisting trolloing motor wiring or run side by side? Would it be possible to show how you wired it. I was trying to figure out the same and your set up looks like the ticket. I remove my trolling motor for duck season.

The boat moves pretty good. Runs about 35mph with me, my son, my lab and all fishing gear. I wanted more power than the small boat with a 5 hp. Probably come in handy when we load to duck hunt.
