Shallow Ramp Launching (updated with picture)

Lower the bunks so the boat sits lower on the trailer. Smaller tires on the trailer. Extend trailer tongue. Bigger tires on your truck. Haha lots of things may help. Without pics of your setup some options may be better than others but as mentioned, extending the trailer tongue may be best.

    16' Lowe w/ 50hp Force won't plane

The best way is probably a spark tester (it will show you how good of a spark). As a quick check I use a timing light which clips on the plug wire and flashes each time that cylinder fires. When you change the plugs you should be able to tell if a plug isn't getting juice or other issue by how...

Spray off your hand? I've never heard anything like that. Would it be better to hook up a water pressure gauge at the tell tale?

1680 Mod V Landau Plowing at WOT

I'm not familiar with landau boats but assuming it has lifting strakes on the bottom. Are they all hooked or just the outer ones? Are they hooked equally? Id try knocking out the hook to 1/16 and running it but depending on your boat setup you may not be able to access the strakes from the...

That hook is likely the problem. Could be factory though. The faster the speed the greater the stern lift from the hook.

    tin boats in salt

I run a 1548 weldbilt too. Been running it in the salt for 4 years. 20in transom is better to have and I'd say at least 20hp motor thats well propped. You do not want a sluggish or slow planning boat. I have a 16in transom but added float pods and that helps a lot. I agree with Kmixson when that...

    Need some flooring ideas

I drew ya a picture. Buy some closed cell blue or pink house insulation foam from lowes/home depot and some adhesive safe for foam. Cut strips about 1" shorter than the distance from rib to rib and 1-1/2" wide. Cut the "shims" to thickness required to support the bottom side of the foam and...

    Need some flooring ideas

I wanna say the floor is .090". Without good support from the foam it will flex and pop rivets (been there). Ever since I resupported with foam I haven't had any issues.

    Need some flooring ideas

If that's a factory weldbilt floor I can guarantee its not .031" thick. If its flexing the foam boards under the floor have cracked. Especially if its a modV hull. What I did was pull up the floor and shim the foam with more foam (glueing in place) until the foam is level to the ribs. You want...
